Salenbien sent in an application to be considered for the Under 17 USA National Team. Her application was accepted by a committee that also chose about 115 other players to attend the tryout. Salenbien will be traveling to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs on May 22. The tryouts will take place from May 24-28.
Salenbien is eagerly anticipating the tryouts. She is looking forward to drill work, scrimmaging, and 3-on-3 games. Salenbien is excited to be able to test her skills against some of the best basketball players in the country. She has a keen understanding of what an invitation to the Under 17 USA National Team truly means. “I’m also excited to get to represent Lenawee County, Lenawee Christian School, the Michigan Mystics and the state Michigan,” Salenbien said.
Bree Salenbien will put some top notch skills on display in Colorado Springs. She is a versatile basketball player that can play multiple positions. Salenbien handles the ball well, especially for her size. She has a long wingspan which allows her to be strong on the block. Salenbien has a knack for getting to the ball without fouling.
Salenbien will have an active spring and summer, especially with the addition of the Under 17 USA National Team tryouts. She will have a full slate with the Michigan Mystics during AAU season. Salenbien will be working with her high school team in June, as well as doing some shootouts and training sessions. “This spring and summer I really just want to keep working hard and improve in all areas of the game,” she said.
