The team jumped in the Crossover select league at Lewis and Clark replacing Madison on the schedule and won the league. Many of the girls were doing double duty in the league playing for their school team and Crossover but they fought through any fatigue issues to be a dominant team through defense and their speed. Coach Marshall has been able to coach these girls up and the squad of mostly incoming freshmen should be contributing on their high school teams this winter.
- Adrenna Snipes led the team from her point guard spot and was probably the most consistent player in the league. Adrenna is a good defender and handles the ball very well. She is a scoring guard but a more than willing and capable passer. She recently made the decision to enroll at Alton Marquette and should be an immediate impact player for the Explorers.
- Abby Williams is a rangy athletic guard/forward that can do many things for her team. At 5’9 she is tall enough that she can and will rebound effectively and causes problems defensively with her length. Abby has played with boys teams during her private school upbringing so she is more aggressive than many girls her age. She joins her older sister at Alton Marquette and should be another immediate contributor in the class of 2022 for Coach Green.
- Alyssa Powell is a strong athletic post player that will add depth to the front court at Triad in her freshman year. Alyssa has tremendous potential due to her ability to defend any position on the court and her strength inside the lane. Her offensive game is still developing, but you can see it coming. She is going to be a force by the time she ends her high school career.
- Chloe White really came on strong throughout the summer. She has become a definite zone buster with her outside shot. She will be a freshman at Jerseyville and could give Coach Strebel an option off the bench as teams try to slow down his top scorers. Chloe has shown the ability to handle the ball in pressure situations and plays good defense. She is certainly one to watch over the next 4 years.
- Timia Williams will be an incoming freshman at Mascoutah and could be a contributor for them in her freshman campaign if given the chance. She is very athletic with good speed and jumping ability. She uses that speed to slash to the basket and will really run the floor hard on the break. She also uses these traits well on the defensive end of the floor. She could really end up being a good player at the 3A level by the time she is done.
- Kamryn Fandrey and Isis Rounds are two guards that have shown potential for Coach Marshall also. Both are quick and defensively tough. Kamryn will attend Alton Marquette and Isis will attend Alton High. Both girls will need some time to develop their shot and expand their scoring game but have the chance to be very good high school players by the time they are done.
Coach Marshall has had the girls in tournaments in St Louis and they have had good results. The Reebok series and other events have given them good competition and helped them learn in game situations. Coach Marshall plays a fast paced game with strong pressure on the defensive end and he has the team that can execute that style. It will certainly be fun to watch these girls develop throughout the next 4 years.
