updated Sept. 4

The grassroots summer season has barely concluded and AAU clubs are already hunting for next year’s players. While there is plenty of horse-trading going on behind the scenes, most clubs also hold open tryouts and/or workouts where players can showcase their skills and try to earn a roster spot for next season. Below is the most current information we have on when and where tryouts will be held.

We are making every effort to standardize the way we communicate grades and ages. With credit to Nick Storm of the Minnesota Fury, the most logical way to list teams is by year of graduation. That way there is no question about whether we are referring to last year’s grade or next year’s grade, not to mention the never-ending confusion about U13, U15, etc.  By using the player’s graduation year, a team can maintain its name throughout its AAU lifespan instead of having to change every year. Thus, a 2022 team will always be called 2022 until they head off to college.

A couple of other notes:

  • Clubs are listed in alphabetical order.
  • We list tryout dates unless open gyms are the primary way of evaluating players.
  • We provide basic information on dates, times and locations. Refer to the club’s website for more information.
  • We include tryouts for years 2023-2020 because those are the years we will cover next summer.

Note to clubs: If your organization is not included here, or your information needs to be updated, email me ( and we will make the updates as soon as possible.
