Adrianna Katcher (2020) – Center Point-Urbana
In Adrianna Katcher’s first game, she led all scorers with 14 points as she led her team to a 48-24 victory. This Southern Illinois commit not only led all scorers, but was also efficient with 67% shooting from the field. To add to that 14 points, Adrianna also had 6 boards, 3 assists, and 4 steals. In her 2nd game of the night, she scored 11 points, and added 7 boards and 3 steals in a 39 – 31 victory. She has started for CPU the past two years. Adding two years of going to the Well, will give this junior plenty of experience to lead her CPU team to another great season.
Caitlyn Daniels (2020) – Cedar Rapids Xavier
Caitlyn Daniels only played in one game first week, but she made an impact. Coming straight from her league play with Xavier, Caitlyn walked in just before tip off. Caitlyn led all scorers with 12 points, scoring two three pointers in a 39 – 31 victory. On the offensive end she also tallied 4 assist in the game. Caitlyn also had an impact on the defensive end with 4 steals. With multiple D1 offers this past Summer, she will be a definite leader for her Xavier team. As only a junior, we have two more years to watch this exciting player.
Emma Slings (2023) – Cedar Rapids Kennedy
In the first game of the night, current 8th grader Emma Slings led all scorers with 18 points. The young hooper was also efficient with her scoring shooting a shocking 76% from field. She connected on 2 of 3 from 3 point range, and 10 of 13 overall. Emma added 3 assist in this game, which was a 62 – 51 victory for her team. Second game of night her scoring slowed down, but she showed up in other areas of the floor. She recorded 7 boards and racked up 3 steals in her last game of the night. Future is bright for this young baller!
Sam Wall (2019) – Maquoketa Valley
In Sam Wall’s first game of night, she didn’t lead her team in scoring, but came close. She scored 13 points, with two 3 pointers and going 100% from free throw line. Sam added two assists in the 48-24 victory. In her team’s second game she scored 7 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists in her team’s 39 – 31 victory. Sam showed why she is ranked 28th for Class of 2019 with her overall play all night. We expect to see big numbers this Winter as she suits up for Maquoketa Valley in her final season.
Tori Knight (2022) – Cedar Rapids Kennedy
In Tori Knight’s first game she scored 10 points off 56% shooting. She added 3 boards, 1 assist and 1 steal in her team’s 62-51 victory. In her second game of night, Tori led her team in scoring with 9 points off a 42% shooting from field. Unfortunately her efficient scoring wasn’t enough, as her team lost this game 39 – 31. The young shooter showed how efficient she is on the offensive end, and should help Kennedy in the future.
