All State: Class AA
Emma Ronsiek of SF O’Gorman (11). Coming off a great AAU season in which Emma received a hand full of D1 offers. During last season’s campaign, she led O’Gorman in scoring at 19ppg. Already a state champion during her freshmen year, Emma will look to capture that crown again.
Trinity Law of Brandon Valley (12). After being named All Conference in the ESD and Metro and All State second team, Trinity capped off her summer playing against some of the best talent in the country. She and Kyah Watson (RC Steven) may be the most athletic players in the state.
Jeniah Ugofsky of Harrisburg (12). The University of South Dakota commit is a walking double-double. Leading her Tigers team in points and rebounds, Jeniah is looking to make her third straight championship appearance. Maybe third time’s the charm!
Danica Kocer of Brandon Valley (12). The two-time First Team All-State member tied a school record in 3 pointers made last year. Danica shot a ridiculous 45% from the arc. Along with Trinity Law this duo nearly upset #1 Aberdeen in last years state semi-final game.
Emily MikkelsenMorgan Hansen of SF Lincoln (11). Another good catch for the University of South Dakota, made her commitment earlier this summer. The lanky wing player can fill up the scoring sheet. Morgan made her first, All State Team last year which she is primed to make more.
Emily Mikkelsen of Pierre (12). Emily lead the Lady Governors in scoring with 15ppg. Expect Emily to increase her scoring output in an attempt to lead her team to a state tournament appearance.
Honorable Mention:
Kyah Watson of RC Stevens (11). Watson was an All-State second teamer last year. The uber quick and strong junior will command a lot of attention this year. It will be tough for teams to match up against her. She’s definitely a sleeper candidate for Player of the Year.

Madysen Vlastuin of Lennox (11) – (pictured above, photo courtesy of the Argus Leader). The 6’1 forward has a nearly perfect mid-range jumper. The future Jackrabbit made it to the title game her freshman year. Now a seasoned veteran, Vlastuin and her Orioles are eying the title.
Kayde Fernholz of Miller (11). 17ppg, 12rpg and 63% FG…. Fernholz controls the paint, rebounds everything and simply puts them in the hole.
Caelyn Valandra-Prue of Todd County (10). Absolute scoring machine. Leading the Falcons in scoring at 19ppg. Valandra-Prue had an impressive 30 point game last season.
Marveen Ross of Crow Creek (11). Filling it up at 19ppg and 6rpg, Ross led Crow Creek as the captain of the team.
Morgan Hammerbeck of Winner (11). Hammerbeck made some stride this past summer. The third team All-State member poured in 17ppg and 8 rpg during the 2017-2018 high school season. Those stats put her in the top tier scoring list for class A.
Honorable Mention:
Rio Fillipi of Lennox (11). The quick guard of Lennox will help take some of the pressure off of Vlastuin. Already with some DII interest, Rio will be key to the Orioles success.
All State: Class B
Lauren Sees of Avon (12). With last years numbers of 19.5 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.3 apg, 2.4 spg and 40% 3FG, Lauren is a definite stat stuffer. A first teamer and state tournament participant, Sees aims to send Avon over the top this year.
Laurie Rogers of Warner Photo courtesy of The Argus LeaderLaurie Rodger of Warner (12). The 6’2 senior averaged a double-double 19 ppg and 10 reb with 3 blocks. Rodger FG % was north of 60% which screams efficiency.
Hilary Albrecht of Howard (11). The Lady Ts of Howard will look to Albrecht to continue what she has done in prior years. In her sophomore year she was named second team All-state, posting numbers of 21ppg and nearly 4spg
Mattilynn Reiner of Tripps/Delmont (12). Coming off a pretty solid AAU season Reiner looks to improve on her upcoming Nighthawks season. She led the team to a semi-final appearance against Castlewood.
Honorable Mention:
Karly Gustafson of Ethan (12). Last year Gustafson made First Team All-State flying under the radar. Expect this 6 footer to add to her already impressive numbers of 19ppg and 7rpg from last season.
