- Castlewood-The Warriors finished at the top of the mountain capturing the Class B State Championship. With only two losses last year, a state title and sophomore Alayna Benike leading the way, the Warriors are looking to repeat.
- Hanson– “Aint nothing wrong with silver?” (Cal Naughton Jr, Talladega Nights). Hanson doesn’t think so. Even though a second-place finish at state is a big accomplishment, the Beaverettes of Hanson wanted more. Hanson graduated seven seniors from last year’s runner-up squad. The youngsters from Hanson will have to step up.
- Tripp-Delmont/Armour – After defeating the #1 seed in the State tournament, the Nighthawks tried to ride that wave all the way to the chip. Unfortunately, they would lose in the next round to the eventual champs Hanson. Mattilyn Reiner will be back with a chip on her shoulder. She may have to channel 2007 Kobe Bryant and drop a few 40 point games.
- Sully Butte– Going into last years state tournament Sully Butte was one of the favorites. A 1 point lost in the first round spoiled that narrative. The Chargers had a very productive season in 2017-2018. They are looking to return to state and have a better outing.
- Warner– Despite losing the first game in the state tournament, the Monarchs of Warner finished off 2-1 in the tournament. It was just something about that first game that left them unable to score, only dropping a total 28 points. However, they bounced back against the next 2 opponents scoring 60 and 54 . That was more like it. This high scoring team can put up 50’s, 60’s and sometimes 70’s when they are playing like themselves. Look for them to bounce back once the season starts.
