Continue ReadingPrep Girls Hoops is beyond excited to announce the launch of the number one source for high school girls basketball in the state of Washington. As we roll out Washington’s coverage, we introduce the class of 2019. The depth of talent is very impressive in the senior class. There are over 30 college signees after the early signing period and that number will only grow by the late signing period in May. The seniors listed below are five 2019’s who have already signed their National Letter of Intents to their respective schools.
Introducing Washington’s 2019 Class:
Brynna Maxwell, 5’11, G, Gig Harbor HS- The reigning 3A state champion and State Tournament MVP is back for one more run! Brynna might be the most skilled player in the state with an elite ability to shoot the ball from all three levels. She is capable of playing the 1 or 2 guard and excels in pick and roll situations. Brynna makes great reads offensively and never seems to get too sped up. Gig Harbor’s all time leading scorer will be all over her school’s record books before heading off to The University of Utah.
Jaquaya Miller, 6’4, F, Kentridge HS- University of Washington Head Coach Jody Wynn and her staff targeted the 6’4 post when they were first hired. They got the job done by creating a family atmosphere that made Jaquaya feel comfortable and welcome from day one. The Kentridge star has soft hands, good feet on the low block and excels as a passer from the high post position. She won the 4A state championship as a sophomore, but came up short in the repeat attempt. Miller looks to compete for the 4A state title and Gatorade State Player of the Year in her final season with Kentridge.
Jacinta Buckley, 6’0, SF, Lewis and Clark HS- The only three time adidas All-American in grassroots history will suit up for the UNLV Lady Rebels in 2019-2020 after completing her senior year in Spokane. Jacinta is a left-handed do-it-all type player that is an automatic double-double at the high school level and a triple double threat with her unselfish play. The first team All-State player would love to lead Lewis and Clark back to the Tacoma Dome, with hopes of winning it all this time around.
Oumou Toure, 6’0, SF, Kamiakin HS- The Tri-Cities area of Washington produces college prospects every year, but a Big East level player does not come around so often. Toure is headed to play for Coach Kurt Godlevske at Butler University after finishing up her senior year. The 6-footer is one of the best athletes in Washington and uses her strong frame to finish around the rim. She is capable of putting up monstrous numbers and will add onto her school’s scoring record that she broke during her junior season.
Grace Sarver, 5’9, G, West Seattle HS- Newly hired Head Coach Kamie Ethridge received her first in-state signee at Washington State University from the West Seattle product. Sarver is an extremely aggressive player that initiates contact driving to the basket and can finish with skill. Her jump shot has improved over the course of her high school career to keep the defense honest. The senior guard is hungry to win a 3A state championship after coming up short three years in a row. Do not be surprised to see Sarver lead West Seattle to another deep state tourney run.
