The Breakdown Fall League is kind of like spring, only in reverse – it comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion. Every year there is a familiar pattern. On the opening weekend in mid-October, things are pretty tame, and there’s a certain laissez-faire attitude among most teams. By week three it heats up a bit as more players filter back from volleyball and soccer obligations. When week four rolls around, all bets are off. That’s how it was Sunday afternoon at Bloomington Kennedy as Tartan High School met Eden Prairie in a week 4 battle. And we do mean battle.

Tartan junior KaTia Cummings is an under-the-radar talent who makes a big impact at both ends of the floor. Cummings is ranked #80 in the class of 2020.

Eden Prairie, for the most part, approached the contest for what it was – a pre-season warmup, an opportunity to play all 13 kids on hand, and a chance to see how youngsters like 8th grader Molly Lenz and 9th grader Myra Moorjani might blend in with veterans such as junior Natalie Mazurek
