The Prospects
Moriah Prewitt, 5’7 PG, 2021 (DMC)
She was the most aggressive player on the court, and that will certainly show up in the box score. Her 18 points were a game-high by a long shot, and her head was always up, resulting in a slew of assists. Prewitt is an enthusiastic, vocal leader and is active and disruptive defensively. Her scoop shot at the rim is effective and she stepped out and canned three triples. A very impressive performance for this promising sophomore lead guard.
Kaili Lawson, 6’1 C, 2019 (DMC)
She was the tallest player on the floor by far and that certainly helped her rack up the blocks in this one, but she’s also comfortable with the ball in her hands and patient while looking over the defense to find open teammates, which she can do quite well. Her jumper is formidable, she even canned a 3-ball to beat the third quarter buzzer. Furthermore, she’s comfortable putting the ball on the deck.
Kate Muller, 5’9 G/F, 2019 (DMC)
A truly versatile threat for the Lions, Muller scored from inside and outside in this one and is athletic enough to guard a multitude of positions on the floor. She’s a utility player with a nice stroke from deep.
Ellie Schlapkohl, 5’5 G, 2020 (DMC)
She was the first player off the bench for the Lions and didn’t waste much time knocking in a 3-ball. She has a nice release and a confident stroke, she’s very comfortable shooting the 3-ball. Look for her to make a lot more of those as the season wears on.
Kaylee Hohertz, 5’10 F, 2019 (Earlham)
A strong player for the Cardinals, Hohertz absorbs contact well at the rim and finished through it. She’s a tough combo-forward who takes is to the rack and can play with physicality when she gets there.
Katie Noah, 5’10 F, 2021 (Earlham)
An versatile and aggressive sophomore, Noah showcased a nice turnaround bank-shot from 8-feet and she was finishing well when granted the opportunity.
