Maya Chandler – 5’9 G – Triton Central – 2020
Chandler struggled shooting the ball, but you can tell that she is a high-level player. Very good basketball IQ and didn’t really take any bad shots but just wasn’t hitting anything. She sets the offense well and is very vocal on both offense and defense. She was all over the floor in this one. High motor and skilled player. – 8 points, 4 rebounds
Rylie Stephens – 5’11 F – Triton Central – 2020
Stephens was everywhere in this game. She was the only one that was able to get anything going for Triton Central. Very good-looking shot and was able to hit a few in a row. Very active on defense and had really quick hands poking the ball away multiple times. Stephens is a player who looked like she had the ability to just completely take over. – 20 points, 9 rebounds
Hannah Bolton – 5’4 G – Monroe Central – 2020
Bolton handles the ball pretty well and keeps her head up when bringing the ball up the floor. Rebounds the ball pretty well. Knows what is going on at all times but is a little too aggressive. Forces shots a bit and just wasn’t hitting in this one. Needs to gain a little strength but makes all the right decisions. – 12 points, 7 rebounds
Mabrey Buis – 5’4 G – Monroe Central – 2020
Buis is a small but solid guard who packs a little bit of a scoring punch when she is open. Buis is someone who is going to get most of her points along the perimeter as she has a pretty solid shot. Won’t see her much inside the arc as she just kind of patrols around the perimeter. Will play a much bigger role next year. – 6 points
Madeline Lawrence – 6’ W – Winchester – 2020
Lawrence was decent in this one. She was able to push the ball in transition and get position around the perimeter. Her jumper looks a little odd, it’s almost like she doesn’t trust it and that is something that she is really going to have to work on. Struggled to score the ball against the length that Oak Hill presented her. Solid on defense and attacks the boards hard. Needs work on her shot. – 11 points, 6 rebounds
Abby Shaw – 5’6 G – Oak Hill – 2020
Shaw was a bit of an unknown coming into this one but she really impressed me. A smaller guard who plays on ball most of the time. She is able to get her shot off pretty cleanly in the face of pressure and can get hot from behind the arc. Really willing and solid ball handler. A leader of the team who is very loud on defense. Quick hands allow her to throw her man off her game. – 6 points
Taylor Westgate – 6’1 F – Oak Hill – 2020
Westgate is a very strong forward who is efficient around the rim. Very good at carving out space underneath the basket and getting to her spot. Westgate is a good rebounder who could be much more productive at that at the next level. Was able to put the ball up at a very high level. Was solid defending the post and didn’t let the heralded big for Winchester get going at all. – 18 points, 10 rebounds
Tamia Perryman – 5’9 F – Fishers – 2020
Perryman was a nice surprise in this one. She played very tough and surprisingly can handle the ball pretty well. Very good at going to the basket with the ball. Showed a little bit of a jumper but that is the next step in her development. Great on defense as she is just so quick laterally. A very interesting wing player who is still adding skills. – 3 points, 8 rebounds
Kaitlynn Feagan – 5’8 G – Fishers – 2020
Feagan is a player who ended up getting some pretty good looks at the basket from long range. She’s a thin guard but plays tough. Very long allowing her to tip passes away. Very good ball skills as she protects it and is solid when bringing down rebounds. If she can develop more than a catch-and-shoot game, her development could take off. – 9 points
Julee Miller – 5’9 W – Elkhart Central – 2020
Miller came off the bench and played a solid role. Can shoot the ball a bit and is very heady on defense. Plays the passing lanes very well and gets her long arms on the ball. Solid player who is able to do a few things well on the floor. Should move into a starting role next year. – 6 points
Yiesha Williams – 5’6 W – Elkhart Central – 2020
Williams isn’t going to jump off the court at you but she does all the right things. She is very good at rolling to the basket after setting a screen. She is able to finish at the rim pretty well but she isn’t a shooter, she just gets into really good positions to receive the ball under the rim. Solid rebounder for her height. More of a small ball stretch four. – 12 points, 7 rebounds
Abbey Miller – 5’8 W – Elkhart Central – 2020
Miller was a starter who really didn’t end up playing that much because of foul trouble. She can do a little bit of everything on the floor. Her defense was solid, even though she picked up some fouls. Really long and knows where to be on the floor on both ends. Vocal on the floor and is able to create for others. I would like to see her more aggressive at scoring the ball because she showed me that she can really do that. – 3 points, 4 rebounds
Kaylee Patton – 5’9 G/F – Warsaw – 2020
Patton was a player that set the tone for Warsaw. She was the catalyst for an offense that was struggling to get anything going. Patton was solid at going to the basket and showed me that she is able to handle the ball pretty well. Not overly athletic but she is able to get to her spot on the floor. Did a fantastic job of defense on Tabor. – 16 points, 4 assists
