There are plenty of athletes who will have an impact this year, and for years to come. This is our third look at some impact freshmen that are about to separate themselves from the competition.
Lauren Sollom (Hartland, SF)
Sollom is an extremely fast player who is great running the floor in transition. She’s a tough finisher at the rim. Sollom is an excellent defender who seemingly engulfs the offensive player.
Maddie Schuur (Zeeland East, PG)
Schuur has a reputation as a hard worker who is always looking to get in the gym and improve her game. She has a high basketball IQ that helps her eliminate mental mistakes. Schuur is a good shooter who can hit it off the dribble or catch.
Rakiyah Beal (Detroit Edison, G)
Beal is an elite and athletic finisher and shooter. She has an excellent shot fake, which opens space for her to put the ball on the floor and drive. Beal is very mentally tough and she is more than ready for the high school game.
Lexus Bargesser (Grass Lake, PG)
Bargesser has a mature game with a basketball IQ that is beyond her years. She is one of the best pure shooters in the 2022 class. Bargesser has excellent court vision and is ready to be a high school lead guard.
Ella Burger (Macomb Dakota, SG)
Burger is proving to be an energy player early in her freshmen season. She is physically strong and a tough athlete. Burger is ready to make an impact this season for Macomb Dakota.
Gwen Rogozinski (Stockbridge, CG)
Rogozinski is a solid ball handler who can handle pressure. She is a good rebounding guard who’s aggressive on the glass. Rogozinski is a good shooter from mid range and deep.
Madison Skorupski (Clarkston, G)
Skorupski has been a little under the radar, but not for long. She’s too talented to not be seen. Skorupski has a very high ceiling and will be a force for years to come.
Lauren DeWolf (Ann Arbor Pioneer, PG)
DeWolf is a consummate floor leader. She’s a very good ball handler and can dish to an open teammate. DeWolf recognizes good shots and hits them with efficiency.
Tadassa Brown (Brooklyn Columbia Central, F/C)
Brown is a force to be reckoned with. She is so tough in the paint. Brown uses solid footwork on both ends.
Ally Carlson (East Grand Rapids, PG)
Carlson has a big future. She will be a star point guard for the foreseeable future. Carlson is an excellent scorer and ball handler who has started from day 1.
