One common theme among these teams was having a quality shooter. There were some shooters on display in the ShoWare Center! Some of these players are already signed for college, but one remains uncommitted as mentioned below.
Top Shooters in the King Showcase:
Kelsey Lenzie, 2019, 5’7, SG, West Seattle HS- The zone buster for West Seattle was able to knock down some outside shots versus Prairie’s tough zone. She shoots the ball well on catch and shoot opportunities. Kelsey also moves well without the ball, sliding to spots on the floor for easier passing angles. After seeing her for many years, I can confidently say she’s one of the better shooters in Washington. She is capable of getting hot and hitting 4-5 threes in a single game. Signed: Portland Pilots
Madisyn Clark, 2020, 5’6, PG, Moses Lake HS- The point guard of Moses Lake has a solid basketball IQ, above average handles and plays a good team game. While she does a lot of decision making and press breaking for Moses Lake, she also displayed an ability to make jumpers off the dribble. She has nice shooting form and does a pretty good job of getting her shot off. *Uncommitted junior*
Cassidy Gardner, 2019, 5’8, PG, Prairie HS- Cassidy is more than a shooter. She has quick feet, good instincts and she can distribute the ball well. That being said, she can get hot from the outside. She shoots the ball well from three and is the beneficiary of teams collapsing in on 6’3 teammate Brooke Walling. Signed: Portland State Vikings
Madison Dubois, 2019, 5’8, PG, Woodinville HS- The heady point guard has solid handles, good basketball IQ and she does little things to help her team win. She is selective with her shots, but she can make them at a high rate, which is what you want out of your point guard. Next year she will be shooting threes as a Redhawk. Signed: Seattle University Redhawks
