1. Roland Park
They have a 17-1 record and handed St. Frances their first loss in 45 conference games. That will get you to number one every time. Mir Mclean and Ja’Niah Henson are having player of the year type seasons.
2. St. Frances
Their 45 game IAAM win streak was snapped but they still sport an 11-2 record and a game changer in junior forward Angel Reese. They fall from number one but not far.
3. Poly
Poly is sitting at 10-2 and first place in Baltimore City. Their only losses are to nationally ranked teams in New Hope and Bishop McNamara. Dasia Townes is asserting herself.
4. McDonogh
At 14-3 McDonogh is still a threat in the IAAM.
5. Pikesville
Two of their big games with National Christian Academy and IND were lost due to weather. Those would have been big tests. They looked solid in their most recent win over Spalding.
6. Frederick
The Cadets are now 12-3 with losses coming to big time competition. They are still looking like a final four 3A team.
7. Mt. De Sales
The Sailors have played a tough schedule and still have a 16-3 record. They are legit and the favorite to win the IAAM B conference.
8. Howard
Howard county is still a dog fight at this point in the season. Howard gets the higher ranking based on head to head with Oakland Mills. They are 11-2. Their guard play keeps them in every game.
9. Oakland Mills
The Scorpions are 13-1 with a big game with Reservoir coming up this week.
10. Western
The Doves handled Mt. Carmel in a head to head match up at the Baltimore Basketball Academy. They’re young but talented. The Doves are 11-2.
11. Pallotti
After a hot start the Panthers have cooled a bit but are still 11-5 and in 4th place in the IAAM.
12. Reservoir 10-2
Emily Dorn is getting plenty of help from Tiffany Hooker and Abby Bailey. They are 10-2 and looking like a tough out in 3A.
13. South River
South River is cruising along with a huge match up with Old Mill on the horizon. Coach Zivic’s squad is 11-1 and sizing up the competition in Anne Arundel county and 4A.
14. Old Mill 10-1
The Patriots are looking forward to their clash with South River for county supremacy, but their eyes are on the big prize in 4A. Niagara recruit Sydney Faulcon is putting up monster numbers as usual.
15. Coppin Academy
The Eagles are flying high at 13-3.
16. Chesapeake 9-2
Chesapeake’s big 3 is still putting up huge numbers. Lack of depth could become a problem at some point.
17. Long Reach
The Lightening are starting to put things together after a slow start. They have improved to 7-4 behind Lyric Swann’s heroics.
18. City
Mya Henson and Raquel Nicholson have the Knights in the mix. At 8-4 they have a big showdown with Forest Park coming up.
19. Forest Park
Forest Park makes their first appearance in the top 20 with back to back wins over IND and Mt. Carmel. They are sitting at 10-2 and could be a problem in 1A playoffs.
20. Mt. Carmel
A heavy schedule has the team battle tested but they have slipped to 12-6 with three straight losses to Western, Forest Park and McDonogh
