Players that can play inside and out are more likely to get playing time on most teams, because they can do different things to help their team win. Washington’s class of 2022 has exceptional wing play all around. Below are some of the wings to keep an eye on moving forward.
Some wings to watch:
2022 Drea Brumfield, 6’2, SF, WF West HS- A versatile perimeter performer that can truly play multiple positions at 6’2. She is extremely long and has a good feel for the game. She has been an immediate impact player at the varsity level with her ability to run the floor and score the ball inside. She gets a lot of reps at the point guard position for WF West and her ball handling is well above average for her height. Drea is a high major prospect.
2022 Avery Watkins, 6’1, SG, Kennedy Catholic HS- First and foremost, Avery is a powerful athlete. She has an ideal frame for the Division 1 level and uses it well to grab rebounds on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. The first team all league player can finish with both hands in the paint and gets off the floor well on her layup attempts. Avery’s ceiling is very high overall and it’s an added bonus that she is a hard worker/good teammate.
2022 Catelyn Deaver, 6’1, SF, Sumner HS- The star freshman has been a bright spot for Sumner’s 11-10 team. She runs the floor very well and finishes with a good mixture of strength and soft touch in the paint. She can grab the rebound and push in transition with ease. Catelyn projects as really good college prospect.
2022 Naomi Hall, 6’0, SF/PF, Kentridge HS- One of the better shooter at 6 feet tall in her class. She has a good mid-range and solid three point shot when left open. She is a good rebounder and battles in the paint, using her length effectively. She can also score inside, which helps her inside-out game. Naomi has received Division 1 interest already. *Pictured
2022 Jada Wynn, 6’0, SG, Kings HS- Jada is one of the better shooters in her class all around. She can get hot from behind the three line and hit multiple in a row. She has a strong frame that will suit her well throughout the rest of her high school career and beyond. She is a good rebounder that can push the ball and sees the pass ahead in transition.
