Who is hoping to get back on track in hopes of a late-season push? Whatever the motives are, there are bound to be big games every night from here on out.
Here are some of the big ones this week in Class A:
West Fargo vs. West Fargo Sheyenne – Thursday, Feb. 7
Two teams competing for the third spot in the EDC square off Thursday. It’s always worth a little more when the two West Fargo schools face off anyways, but with seedings on the line in the EDC, this one could be even bigger. Sheyenne just lost to Fargo Shanley, almost assuredly enabling Shanley to secure the No. 2 spot in the league. West Fargo has been playing well lately. So this should be a good rematch.
Bismarck St. Mary’s vs. Mandan – Thursday, Feb. 7
The Saints are 9-7 on the year and hoping to establish some good vibes down the stretch but a brutal end of season schedule is on tap. It feels like Mandan has been playing all year for another shot at Bismarck Century, and the Braves will eventually get it. They’ve got to keep winning to ensure that that rematch comes with a league title at stake.
Bismarck Century vs. Bismarck Legacy – Saturday, Feb. 9
The Patriots are eyeing an undefeated regular season but there are still good tests on the horizon. Bismarck Legacy represents one of those teams that could – if everything breaks right – pose a threat to Century. The Patriots beat the Sabers by 21 earlier in the season, but Legacy is playing at a high level now and has the ability to make this one interesting.
