A talented 5’10 guard, Pyle can play either guard spot and brings energy and intensity to the floor as well as a well-rounded skill set to the floor, able to defend, rebound, score or find open teammates. “I do whatever is needed to win,” Pyle said. Pyle plays with Next Level Eclipse Holmes out of Wichita and says the experience has helped her prepare for the rigors of high school basketball. “I play with a great group of girls who bring different talents to the court,” she says. “That allows me to play some different roles that I don’t necessarily play in high school. So it rounds out my game.” The reigning Class 4A Division I state champions, McPherson is putting together another big season and are off to a 16-1 start. Although they have moved up to Class 5A, McPherson features a balanced team and is poised for another postseason run. “Our team is very balanced,” Pyle said. “We play well together. On any given night, it’s a wild card who will step up and hit shots. But everyone contributes defensively every night.” Pyle, who has four brothers, says her family has had the biggest impact on her basketball career to date. “We are all really competitive,” she says. “Growing up in the gym or in the driveway, I looked up to my brothers knowing that someday it would be my turn. My dad and brothers are multiple state champions in basketball. My mom is a multiple state champion in track, and two of my brothers have been Mr. Kansas Basketball. “My dad is always around to rebound for me and give me advice. My mom takes me to most of my AAU games/practices.” Pyle says she grew up looking up to other McPherson players, including Katelyn Loecker and Taylor Robertson, among others. “I know there are tons of great boys and girls players,” she said. “Too many to mention. McPherson is unique in that any given year, there is someone to look up to or emulate your game after.” Pyle has drawn interest from a host of college programs, including Washburn, Wichita State, Kansas, Missouri State and UMKC, but says she is focused on finishing her sophomore season strong. “Right now, I’m just focused on helping my team finish strong,” she said.
