Kennedy Harvell, Floyd Central – Only an 8th grader, Harvell saw the floor in every varsity game this season. On Saturday, she was impressive in drills and games, never taking a drill rep or a play off in the day. Harvell was named Co-MVP for camp and was a dominant offensive force in scrimmages after testing well in the combine portion of camp.
Norrah Wilson, Jessie Clark Middle – She’s only a 7th grader but Wilson has great size already and some good touch and instincts in the post. Despite being younger, she doesn’t shy away from physicality and actually flashed a mean streak once or twice in the games portion of the day. Definitely a name to keep an eye on for the future.
Abby Maggard, Floyd Central – The other half of the Co-MVPs also attends Floyd Central. Maggard played all 30 varsity games and averaged 8 points per game this year. She also showed her high level ability in the 5 on 5 action. Abby was consistently one of the best players on the court in 5 on 5 action.
Andrea Jackson – Not sure where the Sophomore hails from but she has great size and showed the ability to score on the low block consistently. Her conditioning is a little lacking as she ran out of gas over the course of the day.
Natalie Duggins, Casey County – One of only two 2020 prospects at camp, Duggins showed a nice shooting stroke and the confidence to take and make threes over the course of the scrimmages. With good size at about 5’10, I would have liked to see Natalie take the ball to the basket more and not be afraid to post up her defender.
Ravion Jackson, Henry Clay – Jackson was one of my favorite players to watch on the day. Ravion showed excellent passing skills and an ability to finish in traffic with either hand. A scrappy defender, Jackson was able to press up on opposing ballhandlers and keep the ball in front of her.
Libby Danner, Hazard – Danner is tough as nails and excelled as a shooter in the games I watched on Saturday. Coming off a season as the third leading scorer for the Lady Bulldogs, Danner showed she’s ready to step her game up heading into her Junior season.
