PrepGirlsHoopsIllinois is excited to get out to tons of events over the next few months. We wanted to give you some insight into the players we are excited to see this spring! Here is our Looking Forward: 2021 Guards.
Shae Littleford (Charleston)
Littleford is a smooth lefty combo guard that plays with great pace and is outstanding at getting others involved and also able to score in bunches with her incredible shot maker.
Lexie Niebrugge (Teutopolis)
Niebrugge is a very efficient scorer that plays at her own pace and she also is a plus passer with her great vision.
Niyah Zamudio (Marshall)
Zamudio is a very tough guard that has a very smooth game. She plays with good pace and has the ability to create separation on defenders and she is also a plus shooter.
Elana Wells (Burlington Central)
Wells had a bunch of good games this past season and showed she is an elite defender and a plus shooter from deep.
Riley Jenkins (Galesburg)
Jenkins is a silky smooth shooting left handed shooter that has a great release and is great off running off screens. Jenkins is also a great on-ball defender and good help defender that stays in the passing lanes to get deflections and steals.
Krystyna Ellew (Taft)
Ellew is a plus shooter that has great range on her jump shot. She has really good size for a guard and is a great rebounder for a guard. She also has a knack of getting into the passing lanes.
Erin Houpt (Danville)
Houpt had a legendary senior season putting up tons of 30 point games. Houpt game is fun to watch with her outstanding skill set and footwork. She can score on all three levels and when the game is tight she has proven she is a gamer with her clutchness.
Aija Gwin (Champaign Central )
Gwin has shown this season she is an elite 3 point shooter with great range. Her finishing ability is improving and she is a great rebounder that can initial the break.
Morgan Browning ( Champaign Central)
A natural scorer that has the ability to score at all three levels. Browning finishing is elite and she has a really smooth mid-range game.
Natalie Schroeder (Watseka)
Natalie is a quick guard that is a good in transition and also a plus shooter from deep, with also a slick handle.
Taya Davis (Decatur MacArthur)
Davis is a great floor general that has a slick handle and has a great feel to her game. She also showed this season she is a really good shooter and crafty finisher.
Sophie Lowis (Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin)
Lowis is a plus shooter that comes off pin downs and screens. As well has shown the ability to attack closeouts and even has shown she can shoot the 3 off the dribble.
