These girls have went beyond measures in their high school careers, and it has paid off. All four of these players will be playing high-major D1 basketball after this season.
Brief Rundown:
• Kierstan Bell (6’1” / G 2019 / Canton-McKinley): Kierstan Bell is probably the most decorated girls basketball player ever from Ohio. Winning her third Ms. Ohio award, the only girl to ever do that. Bell had another great year with McKinley as they fell short in the Regionals with an overall record of 25-2. Combining athleticism with size and scoring ability, the senior has put herself in elite company. Putting up 27 points, eight rebounds and 4.4 steals a game, Bell’s production was unmatched. In high school, the Ohio Player Of The Year went 93-14 overall, an absurd record. Bell will be playing at Ohio State the next four years.

A top five player nationally, Horston is fresh off another D3 state title. The Ohio Gatorade Player Of The Year can run the court, and dish it out with the best of them. A long athletic frame, sets Horston apart from her opposition. The senior can score it from everywhere, along with great court vision. The Tennessee commits game projects well to the next level for these reasons.
• Zia Cooke (5’9” / G 2019 / Toledo Rogers): You have probably seen highlights of Zia Cooke as she’s been in the national spotlight, even catching the eye of Dwayne Wade. Cooke is an elite lead guard, who can score it off the drive, where she has a deadly handle to the game. Some of the best ball handling you will see from the HS level, Cooke has built her game on often having defenders off balance. The South Carolina commit can fill it up, and has that takeover mentality. Zia Cooke was the division two POY, and will be participating in the McDonald’s All-American Game.
• Sammie Puisis (6’1” / W 2019 / William Mason): Lastly, the Florida State commit. Puisis is a bigger framed wing that effects the game in many ways. With a long frame, she is often forcing turnovers, heading the other way. The senior has a nice stroke from outside, that is unmatched. She can create her own shot, as well as create for teammates. The First Team All-Ohio member is one of the better two-way players in the state, and national writers have taken notice.
