Let’s take a look at the PGH All-Ohio teams for the Class of 2022.
Player of the Year:
KK Bransford – 5’11 Guard – Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame
KK Bransford (pictured above) – burst onto the scene with a 29-point explosion in her first high school game – against nationally-ranked Columbus Africentric. One of the top freshmen in the country, Bransford helped lead Mt. Notre Dame to the DI state championship, while averaging 16 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 2.2 APG and 1.7 SPG. For her efforts, KK was an honorable mention selection to the OPSWA D1 All-Ohio team.
1st Team:

VanSlooten burst onto the scene for TND, averaging 12.2 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 2.2 APG and 2 SPG during her freshman season. At 6’2 with guard skills, she can create from the perimeter and post-up smaller defenders. Grace was a 2nd Team All-Ohio selection in DI, who also earned First Team Three Rivers Athletic Conference and Northwest District honors.
Chance Gray – 5’9 Guard – Lakota West
The sister of former Xavier and Tennessee standout Amber Gray, Chance has already started to cement her own legacy as one of Lakota West’s best players. The athletic guard is smooth – finishing in a variety of ways with both hands around the rim. An outstanding shooter, Gray averaged 14.7 PPG this season on 46% from the field, 41% from 3-point land and 84% from the FT line. She was a 3rd Team All-Ohio selection by the OPSWA in DI.
Claudia Pifher – 5’9 Guard – Buckeye Central
Claudia helped lead Buckeye Central to another outstanding season, as they finished with a 22-4 record. The OPSWA DIV Third Team All-Ohio selection averaged 15 PPG this winter for the Bucks. Pifher also earned 1st Team nods from the District 6 Coaches Association and N10 Conference and 2nd Team honors from the Northwest District.

One of the most talented guards in Ohio – regardless of division or class – McMahon made it look easy at times during her freshman campaign. Cotie averaged 15.8 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 1.8 APG and 1.6 SPG for the Elks. She scored 31 against Lakota West, 20 against Mount Notre Dame, 23 against Tecumseh, 25 against Wayne and 20 against Berlin Hiland. She was a First Team GWOC selection and earned Third Team honors in the Southwest District.
Meghan Downing – 6’2 Post – Tri-Village
Meghan is a rare post who can play with her back to the basket, make moves off of the bounce and knock down the occasional catch and shoot 3-pointer. She is great at challenging shots in the paint and does an outstanding job of turning defense to offense in transition. The DIV First Team selection in the Southwest District was named to the special mention All-Ohio team by the OPSWA after averaging 12.8 PPG.
2nd Team:
Ella Riggs – 5’7 Guard – Indian Hill
Riggs and her teammate Maddie Antenucci formed a devastating combination for Indian Hill who finished 22-3 and won the Cincinnati Hills League. Riggs averaged 16.7 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 2.4 APG and 3.6 SPG on her way to 1st Team CHL honors and a 3rd Team selection to the Southwest District list. Incredibly, Ella scored double figures in 24 out of her team’s 25 games during her freshman year.
Emma Dretke – 5’11 Forward – Massillon Jackson
Entering the 2018-2019 season, many people wondered how Jackson would replace so much production lost with the graduation of Taylor Mikesell (now at the University of Maryland). Dretke showed that she was up to the task, averaging over 12 PPG in the brutal Federal League. Her efforts earned her honorable mention All-Ohio status in DI, 2nd Team Federal League honors and a 2nd Team NE-Inland district award.
Imarianah Russell – 5’10 Guard – Dublin Coffman
Russell, who had a few notable scoring outbursts this season with 28 against Westerville South and 20 against Canton McKinley, consistently showed everyone why she is a big-time DI prospect. Playing alongside Ohio State bound Jacy Sheldon, Russell averaged 17 PPG and earned OSPWA DI honorable mention All-Ohio, 1st Team Ohio Capital Conference – Central Division and 2nd Team Central District honors.
Cate Schieber – 5’8 Guard – Granville
Schieber led her team to a defense of their Licking County League – Buckeye Division championship. For her efforts, Cate was named to the District 11 First Team, LCL First Team, Central District 2nd Team and honorable mention OPSWA DII All-Ohio team. She scored over 14 PPG on the season.

For a freshman, Riley is as physically imposing as they come. The OPSWA DII special mention All-Ohio selection played her best during the tournament stretch and helped lead her Fighting Irish team to the state final 4. Lanae – already a good post defender – scored 14 PPG and also earned a spot on the NE-Inland District First Team.
3rd Team:
Taylor Gray – 6’0 Post – Arcanum
Gray didn’t have the statistics as some of her counterparts in the Class of 2022, however, her opponents became very familiar with the effect that she has on a basketball game. Taylor earned honorable mention status on the DIII OPSWA All-Ohio Third Team and Southwest District Second Team, after averaging 9.9 PPG and 9.4 RPG – a near double-double for Arcanum.
Macie Taylor – 5’7 Guard – Troy
Macie earned Greater Western Ohio Conference – American North Division Player of the Year, after leading the conference in scoring at 16.3 PPG. She also added 3.8 RPG, 3.5 APG, 2.5 SPG, while shooting 48% from the field and 38% from the 3-point line. Taylor was an honorable mention selection to the DI Southwest District team.
Jenna Smith – 6’0 Post – Garrettsville Garfield
Smith averaged 13.2 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 1.2 APG, 1.4 SPG and shot 57% from the field for Garfield. Her athleticism and length make her a tough match-up for most posts. She does a tremendous job of catching the ball and using one-dribble to get into scoring spots. She earned 1st Team honors from the Portage Trail Conference and Tri-County Coaches Association, as well as 3rd Team honors from the NE-Inland District.

At over 15 PPG, Austy Miller earned 2nd Team honors in the Southwest District and DIV honorable mention All-Ohio honors from the OPSWA. Miller is a tremendous playmaker – who as a freshman did a great job of seeing the floor and creating scoring opportunities for her teammates.
Angie Smith – 5’7 Guard – Yellow Springs
A superb athlete – Smith scored over 24.5 PPG, tallying 500+ points as a freshmen – the highest scoring average for any member of the Class of 2022 this winter. The Metro-Buckeye Conference Co-Player of the Year, Smith saw a variety of junk defenses, but continued to produce the bulk of her team’s offense on her way to a 3rd Team Southwest District nod.
