A rising point guard in the 2021 class, Topeka standout Ja’Neysha Hendricks made a name for herself this past season as she was a key performer for a team that advanced all the way to the Kansas Class 6A state championship game.

At 5’4, Hendricks brings a calm, patient stle of player to the court for a point guard. She looks to get her teammates involved and has terrific court vision and playmaking skills.

“I would rather get an assist then score.” she says. “My defense is really good and aggressive. I would say that I'm an all around active player.”

Hendricks says the Trojans put together a special season as they went 23-2 overall and placed second in Kansas 6A.

“Our chemistry was great … even though we didn't win (state), I could not be more proud of my team as well as of Washburn Rural,” Hendricks said. “This year two Topeka teams made it to the state. We made our city proud.”

Hendricks says she is focused on improving her overall game, including scoring the ball.

“I feel like I'm strong in the other areas when it comes to assist and defense,” she says. “But there is always
