Most of the best talent in the state was on display and I caught most of the 2020, 2021, and 2022 teams as well as a few 2023 players. In each class I will be highlighting the top players that I saw. You can see the evaluations of the top ten 2020’s that I saw below.
Addie Gardner – 5’10 W – Frankton HS (IN) – Midwest Finest 2020
I saw Gardner quite a few times during the high school season and it seems like she’s just getting better. She’s more physical than I can remember and has tighten up the handle a bit. I do think that it gets loose at times, but nothing major. She’s also developing nicely around the perimeter and can be counted on to knock down the big shots. Still a thin wing prospect with a lot of potential.
Keegan Sullivan – 5’11 W – SB St. Joseph (IN) – Sky Digg Elite (Sullivan)
Sullivan had a nice weekend as she was thrust into the ball handling duties for her team. She’s a player who can really get any shot off that she wants. Sullivan impressed me the most with her ability to shoot the ball, while getting to the rim and getting her teammates involved. I think she can work on her decision making just a little bit, but she’s just such a good scorer.
Claire Rake – 5’9 SG – Center Grove (IN) – Indiana Flight Storm
Rake really surprised me this weekend with how much she has improved since the high school season. I really thought her shot looked better as well as the ability to get to the rim. Rake is a strong guard who can either play at the two spot or slid down to the wing. I think that she’s going to start getting a ton of attention as she looks a lot more confident in her abilities.
Maya Chandler – 5’9 PG – Triton Central (IN) – Indiana Elite Thunder
Chandler has always really impressed me. She is a strong game manager with the knack to score the ball. With her team on the AAU circuit she isn’t going to be someone who scores a ton but rather distributes it really well. Love her frame and she’s solid on defense as well. A two-way player at the lead guard spot could help out a lot of teams at the next level.
Kendall Bostic – 6’2 PF – Northwestern (IN) – Indiana Elite Thunder
Bostic showed this weekend why she is the premier post player in the state. She is very strong with the ball down low and doesn’t have a problem finishing through others at the basket. She is a very solid rebounder and Bostic also has the ability to stretch it out. Her perimeter game is developing and while she isn’t able to rely on it, she has the ability to step out and knock down shots.
Rachel Loobie – 6′ PF – Franklin Central (IN) – Indiana Elite Thunder
In my first time seeing Loobie, I came away rather impressed. She is a fairly bouncy wing who isn’t the most athletic, but does have a little bit of edge to her game. She shot the ball really well this weekend but also showed the ability to get to the rim off the bounce. She’s a really good teammate too as she spreads the ball around and leads the team vocally.
Kiarah Carney – 5’7 G – Ballard HS (KY) – Nike Gym Rats Tan
Carney was really good for the Nike Gym Rats Tan team. When I saw them in the championship game she was the catalyst for her team. Carney is athletic and she keeps her head up well coming up the floor scanning for open players. She is also a player that can use a burst of speed to get to the rim and into the paint really well. I think she’ll end up being a really nice prospect that coaches notice this summer.
Jackie Maulucci – 5’8 PG – Hamilton Southeastern (IN) – Nike Gym Rats Tan
Maulucci has always impressed me with her game management and court vision. She is kind of shielded on HSE because of the sheer talent, but I think that she also has a high ceiling. She has good shooting form, but the shot just hasn’t started to fall yet. Once it starts dropping I imagine that colleges will start getting involved heavily. Maulucci is a good defender and plays very unselfishly.
Hope Sivori – 5’5 PG – Mercy (KY) – Nike Gym Rats Silver
Sivori was really impressive at the lead guard position. She is a player who can play both uptempo or slow it down. I really liked her ability to get into the lane and facilitate but she can also shoot it really well. Sivori is a player who has a ton of ability and knowledge of the game. Sivori is just one of those players that you hand the ball to and let her play.
Claire Wilhour – 5’6 G – St. Elmo (IL) – Indiana Flight West 2020
Wilhour is a thin guard, but a very solid scorer. She sees the floor well with the ball in her hands and has the ability to get to the rim. She shoots it pretty solidly as well, but is much better at going to the rim. Once she adds just a bit more strength I think her game is really going to take off.
