Most of the best talent in the state was on display and I caught most of the 2020, 2021, and 2022 teams as well as a few 2023 players. In each class I will be highlighting the top players that I saw. You can see the evaluations of the top ten 2021’s that I saw below.
Chloe Gould – 5’8 PG – Danville HS (IN) – Indiana Showcase (Kirby)
I really enjoy watching Gould play when I have the chance to see her. While she isn’t a scorer quite yet, and she has to shoot the ball in rhythm, Gould’s game management is solid. She’s a player that will set up the offense and run it efficiently. Vocal leader who knows where to move the ball. I really like how she plays and she is a lengthy defender on the other end. Once her shooting ability catches up she will be a very nice small school prospect.
Shae Littleford – 5’8 PG – Charleston HS (IL) – Indiana Elite WBB
I saw Littleford play this past high school season, and it seemed like she was playing more of a scoring role rather than a facilitating role. I really like her ability to see the floor and her willingness to pass the ball off of the drive. She can shoot the ball so teams can’t just sag off to protect the drive. Really solid motor and will mix it up for those loose balls on the floor.
Katey Richason – 6’1 PF – Zionsville HS (IN) – Indiana Elite WBB
Richason was really solid in the couple games I saw of her. She brings a toughness to the post that a lot of other kids don’t bring to the floor. Once she got the ball in the post, she was going to score it. Isn’t going to kill you with athleticism, but rather just out muscle you to the rim. Rebounds the ball really well and can go get the balls that don’t fall off right to her.
Katie Burton – 5’9 G – Fishers HS (IN) – UAA Flight 16U
Burton struggled to shoot the ball this weekend, but she looked very solid going to the rim. She either looks to score, or drive and dish getting her teammates involved. Burton is a little out of control at times, but makes plays when it doesn’t look like anything is there. She is much better at driving the ball than sitting out on the perimeter shooting. Once she starts driving it on a spread floor, her game will jump to another level.
Lilliann Frasure – 5’10 W – North Judson (IN) – UAA Flight 16U
Frasure had a really solid weekend scoring the ball. At the next level she’s going to be thrust into a different position than she is playing now. She handles the ball pretty well and sees the floor well, but just isn’t quick enough at this point to play point guard at the next level. Frasure has a solid frame with the ability to get into the paint and body up on the smaller guards that she’ll face in AAU and high school.
McKenzie Hudgen – 5’8 PG – Mishawaka Marian (IN) – Sky Digg Elite (Grennes)
Playing with Sky Digg Elite due to her Always 100 team off this weekend, Hudgen turned some heads. She is a really solid scorer and can get into the paint fairly easily. I saw her knock down quite a few jumpers and she actually got pretty hot shooting the ball. She’s rather skilled with the ball in her hands and has a bit of creativity to her game.
Madelyn Bischoff – 5’9 SG – Roncalli (IN) – Indiana Elite Prime
Bischoff played really well in every game that I saw her play. I really thought that she improved a ton since the high school season and looked much more confident. She was really good shooting the ball but she was also getting to the rim really well. She has some nice length that will play at the next level and she defended really well during the event. Possibly an overlooked player on this Indiana Elite Prime squad.
Alex Richard – 6’1 PF – Avon (IN) – Indiana Elite Prime
Richard is a player who really surprised me. After not doing much in the games I saw in high school, Richard played really well. She is just so skilled with the ball in the post. She plays bigger than she is on defense and can really alter the shots of driving guards and other posts. I really like her ability to get the ball in the post and score in a variety of ways. Richard’s stock is going to rise quite a bit this spring and summer.
Aubrey Burgess – 5’7 PG – Linton-Stockton (IN) – Indiana Showcase (Sinclair)
Burgess had a coming out party this past season. Really like her ability to play on the ball and dictate the offense. She’s a really solid defender too and has an edge to her game. She can shoot it a little bit but is much better at getting to the rim. Burgess is a player that I really like to be a consistent force at the lead guard position.
Bridget Dunn – 6’2 PF – Carmel (IN) – Indy Magic (Andrus)
Dunn might have been the most impressive prospect that I saw all weekend long. She shot the ball really well from behind the arc but was also able to gain inside position. Dunn is just so skilled around the basket and can really score the ball anywhere she wants to. She has grown tremendously over the last few years and because of that has a lot of perimeter skills. Tons of upside that can be realized as she gains strength.
