Among all classes we have 139 total evaluations with 59 of those in the junior class. This isn’t an exhaustive list of everyone in the class at the event, but rather who played well or for extended minutes that we were able to get an eye on. This is Part IV of IV.
Jessica Stuart – 5’9 W – Southeast Polk
Stuart is a long and lengthy wing who can do a little bit of everything. Shoots it well and mixes it up just about everywhere on the floor. Really good motor and does all the little things that you want to see someone do. I think with the fluidity with her game she is going to be able to be a really nice college prospect.
Faith Putz – 5’7 W – Urbandale
Putz is a really solid shooting wing who likes to catch and shoot a ton. She has a weird set up for her shot, but it works well for her. Not much of a playmaker for others yet, but has the ability to take the ball and drive it. I think she’s someone who can be a deadly shooter at the next level.
Maya Gyamfi – 6’1 F – Urbandale
Gyamfi struggled just a little bit in the game, but you can tell she is very skilled. Love her aggressiveness and willingness to drive the ball. She can shoot it just a little bit and is a really solid defender. Avid rebounder of the ball and has good basketball IQ. Really good frame and ability to handle the ball.
Grace Plummer – 5’10 W – Valley
Plummer is a solid wing shooter who is going to give you a couple 3-pointers a game but other than that won’t contribute much else. Good defender who isn’t going to hurt you on that end of the floor. I like her maturity and willingness to play hard the entire game even if she doesn’t contribute.
Alex Honnold – 5’8 F – Valley
Honnold is a really strong post presence who is just a bit undersized. Reminds me of a little bit less offensive Kenna Sauer (Ankeny Centennial) as she has a very strong lower body and ability to rebound. Scores pretty well in the post. She’s going to give you solid defense, good rebounding, and a good shooting percentage every single game.
Aubrey Joens – 5’9 G – City High
Joens is a gazelle. She is constantly moving around to get the ball and can shoot it pretty well from the outside. She struggled in this one to score the ball consistently and didn’t handle it that well. A really heady player who just knows how to play the game. I really think that she can score at a high level all of the time, just struggled getting her shots to go down. Committed to Iowa State.
Paige Rocca – 5’8 W – City High
Rocca is a wing who has a good frame and shoots it well from the outside. Repeatable release shown in the game but it just wasn’t falling for her. I really liked how she moved without the ball to get open but she isn’t going to be a playmaker for her team. Solid off ball shooting option though.
Rose Nkumu – 5’8 PG – City High
Nkumu is a solidly built lead guard who can score really well at the rim. She doesn’t shoot it too well, but has the ability with a little more consistent release. Good ball handler who doesn’t try to do too much with the ball in her hands. Really good court vision and aggressive on defense.
Taylor Runchey – 5’8 G – Ankeny Centennial
Runchey really struggled to shoot the ball in this game. She is a really strong ball handler, but her shot just wasn’t falling in this one. Really would have liked to see her try to attack a little bit more where she can be a good playmaker. Solid all-around player on both ends whose offense just needs to catch up.
Alexandria Keahna-Harris – 5’11 W – Ankeny Centennial
Keahna-Harris is a solid shooter who can get inside and mix it up too. Isn’t overly quick with the ball but has the ability to get her shot off without much space around her. She’s a player who is versatile enough that she can defend the post and the perimeter. Quick enough that I think she will end up on the wing.
Sophia Jungling – 5’5 PG – Aplington-Parkersburg
Jungling is a really good lead guard who controls the ball really well and has a little bit of offense added into her game. While she is thin, she is really tough. Really good athlete who can push the pace on offense. Plays with a high motor and loves the game of basketball.
Megan Johnson – 5’9 W – Aplington-Parkersburg
Johnson was on fire in this one. She shot the ball really well and was all over the floor. Really good wing player who is very versatile allowing her to play both inside and outside on the floor. Liked her ability to knock down shots in traffic but also to go ahead and get others involved.
Grace Flanagan – 5’8 G – North Linn
Flanagan is a really solid guard who can handle it well and shows a really good amount of court vision. While she didn’t have a good offensive game, she was able to distribute the ball well and get others involved. I thought that her game was really indicative of how good of a lead guard should play.
Abby Flanagan – 5’10 F – North Linn
Flanagan is a bit more of a post than her sister. Very mobile around the basket gives her the ability to post up or stretch out to the perimeter. Solid rebounder who just goes and gets the ball. Struggled offensively though as Treynor really bodied her up in the post. Sees the floor well.
