Continue ReadingThe 4A semi-final matchup that we have all been waiting for is (3) Lewis and Clark and (2) Kentridge. Both of these teams have performed well throughout the season in their respective regions. Lewis and Clark (LC) entered the game at 23-2 and playing their best basketball of the year by far. Kentridge was coming off a big win over Woodinville and had a 25-2 record. Eastern Washington versus western Washington. GSL versus SPSL. Lewis and Clark boasts the UNLV signee in Jacinta Buckley and Kentridge boasts the UW signee in JaQuaya Miller. All the story lines were in order for an outstanding basketball game. Lewis and Clark jumped out to a 32-17 halftime lead and never looked back, winning by a score of 64-55.
Top performers:
2019 6’0 SF Jacinta Buckley (Lewis and Clark HS) – The UNLV signee played an outstanding all around game. Plain and simple, she is the real deal. The left-handed wing player guarded both of Kentridge posts throughout the game. She made excellent passes and scored when the opportunity presented itself, as she has always done. She had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
2019 5’11 W Kaylee Bishop (Lewis and Clark HS) – Bishop’s outside shooting was crucial for the Tigers’ victory. She played excellent help defense on the bigs, using her length to make the post players’ shots difficult. Kaylee had a huge 22 points.
2020 6’2 F Jordyn Jenkins (Kentridge HS) – The star junior had just 2 points at the half, but the third and fourth quarter was a completely different story. Jenkins ended at 23 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks.
2019 6’4 F JaQuaya Miller (Kentridge HS) – The UW signee had some really impressive moves during the game. Her shooting percentage was not quite as high as normal, with LC swarming her in the post, but she showed good footwork and agility in the paint. She finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
2019 5’11 W Dominique Arquette (Lewis and Clark HS) – The senior wing player handled Kentridge’s pressure very well and made some big shots. She also crashed the boards hard and doubled down on defense aggressively. She ended with 12 points and 4 rebounds.
2021 5’7 PG Andie Zylak (Lewis and Clark HS) – The sophomore point guard was super solid once again. Zylak battle inside with the trees, pulling down 7 rebounds. She handled Kentridge’s pressure well and contributed on the scoring front with 7 points.
