Here’s a quick look at some of the players whose stock is trending up as they head out to play in front of coaches this weekend.
Ta’ziah Jenks, Mercy – With her mix of size and athleticism, Jenks is on the brink of becoming an elite high major recruit in America. Not far removed from helping to take Mercy to Rupp Arena, Ta’ziah is a great weekend away from being a Louisville or Kentucky level of recruit.
Kendall Wingler, Meade County – Already holding offers from EKU and Georgetown College, Wingler could find herself with 8-10 offers coming out of this weekend. Kendall has over 2,000 career points and is wired to score. Part of the Kentucky Royals program, she’ll be playing alongside the next lady on this list.
Lexi Taylor, Bullitt East – Taylor is one of the state’s best uncommitted Juniors and should have scholarship offers by this time next week. After averaging 18 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Lady Chargers, Taylor is hoping to wow coaches this weekend in Cincinnati with the Royals.
Malea Williams, Scott County – Georgia, St. John’s, Boston College and Cincinnati are among the schools that have offered Williams, a long and lanky 6-2 forward who is coming off a very strong Junior season for Scott County. Williams has crazy potential and is perhaps the biggest draw of all of Kentucky’s frontcourt prospects because of her height.
Destinee Marshall, Sacred Heart – One of the better point guards in the class, Marshall is a good enough scorer to keep defenses honest even though she is at her best as a distributor. Coming off a season where she shot 33% from 3, Destinee could end the weekend with a big increase in offers if she can knock down shots all weekend.
Channing Lewis, Mercer County – Channing is the latest in a long line of scoring guards at Mercer County. She was offered by the University of the Cumberlands to start this month and has had several D1 schools interested in her leading up to the weekend.
