Here’s a quick look at some of the players whose stock is trending up as they head out to play in front of coaches this weekend.
Elise Ellison-Coons, Dunbar – The Under Armour Association recently expanded to the girl’s side of things and Elise is playing with the West Virginia Thunder on the Girls UAA. With the type of size and skill she possesses, Ellison-Coons is going to catch eyes this weekend. If she shoots the ball well this weekend, she could have multiple offers by Monday.
Mya Meredith, Scott – Meredith already has some offers in her back pocket heading into this weekend but with her scoring ability, she could burst on the national radar after this weekend. One rival high school coach told me, “She’s the real deal. Like UK/UL good”. We could see that as soon as this weekend if Meredith performs.
Jacqueline Jackson, Greenwood – After carrying her team most of the season, Jackson should benefit from not being the sole focus of opponent’s game plans this weekend. Jackson has good positional size but will have to show an improved ability to shoot from deep if she wants to impress the coaches this weekend.
Raigan King, Pineville – One of the best post players in the class, King is going to get offers if she duplicates her high school stats this weekend. With size and post moves, Raigan projects as a solid prospect for the next level. Not many coaches find their way to Pineville so she needs to impress during her AAU season.
Casey Coleman, Rockcastle County – After averaging 12 points and 4 rebounds in her Sophomore season, Casey has picked up offers from Cumberlands, Pikeville, Lindsey Wilson and Kentucky Christian. She already has more college options than most but could kick her recruitment up a level or too with a good AAU season.
Harley Paynter, Boyd County – A good scorer and solid passer, Paynter is getting her chance to play outside of Miss Basketball Savannah Wheeler’s shadow. She’s going to be running the team for Kentucky Premier and her ceiling as a prospect is right up there with Wheeler’s. Don’t be surprised to see Harley end up with an offer sheet like her former teammate had.
