There are a few girls that I am specifically questioning their position. I think they all have potential to rise in the rankings but I need to watch them a few more times before making my decision. Here are the top 2021 forwards to watch this summer!
Kiya Dorroh (Sabino)
Kiya Dorroh is a bit of a in-between player, having the size to play forward but skill set to play guard. Whether she is a guard or forward is debatable, what isn’t debatable is if she can ball or not. Dorroh is highly skilled and has sky high potential. I am going to take every opportunity I have to see her play, I believe she is going to be something truly special.
Alyssa Brown (Sahuaro)
Alyssa Brown is another must watch player. She led AZ in scoring this season and also has a ton of potential. She does most of her scoring from down low but as she extends her game, she’ll only get better. Brown has a ton of potential and is definitely worth the price of admission to catch of glimpse of her skill set.
Bella DiGiovanni (Seton Catholic)
I see a lot of potential in DiGiovanni. She has great size and length, as well as some nice intangibles. I think she could be a really solid D1 prospect if she continues to progress accordingly. DiGiovanni can do a little bit of everything very well.
Haylee Weathersby (Apollo)
Weathersby is a very intriguing prospect due to her size and shooting ability. Both of these attributes make her a really promising prospect in my eyes. Any time your big can extend the floor and shoot the deep ball, I am a fan of it.
Jaya Nelson (Salpointe Catholic)
Jaya Nelson is a player that I think could potentially be higher on our rankings. She has shown a lot of room to grow and plays with a lot of passion and tenacity. I would assume someone who plays so hard would also put that effort into training and getting better. I think Nelson has a lot of potential and could easily rise in our rankings. I need to keep a close eye on her.
