There are a few girls that I am specifically questioning their position. I think they all have potential to rise in the rankings but I need to watch them a few more times before making my decision. Here are the top 2021 guards to watch this summer!
Kamryn Doty (Sabino)
After seeing Doty play a couple more times since our original rankings came out, I can confidently say that Doty needs to be moved up the list. She has played extremely well in the couple showcases I’ve got to see her in. She has great handles and can score from deep or attack the basket. I would like to watch her play a few more times before making a final decision on where she falls.
Jess Finney (Chaparral)
Jess Finney has also played outstanding in the few times I’ve been able to check her out since our inaugural rankings. Based on her performances, she is making quite the convincing case to be moved up the list. I would like to watch her play a few more times before making a final decision on where she falls. Finney can flat out shoot the ball! It is really impressive to watch her shoot even if surrounded by defenders.
Tatyanna Clarburne (Perry)
Clayburne is 100% moving up our list in our next rankings, I’m just not sure where to place her quite yet. I need to see her play a few more times before deciding where she lands but she is absolutely moving up. She has played amazing in the 4 games I’ve seen her play this summer. I am very much looking forward to seeing her performances the rest of the summer.
Rachel Early (Dobson)
Early is a player I need to go out and see. Everyone keeps telling me about this point guard from Dobson, apparently she is the real deal. I am very eager to see her play in person and see what she can do. Of course whenever you have rankings come out, people are going to give their opinions on how the list shook out. Early has by far been the most frequent name I hear in these conversations.
Cadence Davis (Williams Field)
Much like in the case of the other girls on the list, I need to see Davis play a few more times before deciding if she needs to be moved up the list or not. She played terrific in the game I saw her play at the Main Event, but that was just one game. That’s a very small sample size and I am a firm believer in doing your research.
