The way they pass the ball, great defenses stances, creative dribbling moves, cool finishes or whatever the entertaining part may be, that’s all we get on some of these players. We dig a little deeper into who some of these players are who received some sort of post-season recognition or honor. Whether one made first team, honorable mention, etc., now we shift focus into finding out more about some first teamers!
Cur’Tiera was named to the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference (COAC) 1st Team. Very athletic player that moves really well on the court. Her length allows her to be a strong force on the defensive end. Often getting deflections and steals because of her length. Her pressure defense pestures her opponent to make a poor decision with the ball or force an unbalanced action. On the offensive end, attacks well from the high post and uses her good court vision to facilitate to her teammates.

What inspired you to start playing basketball?
My parents and my brother played basketball, so it was already in my blood play basketball before birth. For the most part, my brother really inspired me on a different level. I always watched him play in AAU and school and I saw how much fun he was always having, so I thought I would give it a try and I loved it too!
What aspect of your game do you love the most?
I love that I am not a one-dimensional player. I have the ability to do more than just scoring. My parents taught me that scoring is not the only thing about the game. When I am not scoring, I am diving on the ground blocking shots, getting rebounds and making a big presence on the defensive end.
What are your plans for basketball in your future?
My future plans are to attend Quinnipiac University on full ride. After college, I would like to pursue playing professional basketball overseas or in the WNBA.
What is your favorite basketball memory ever?
My most favorite memory is making it to the Final 4 in State. It was a great experience even though we did not make it to the championship game. It helped created a culture for Mustang Girl’s basketball program.
What do you like to do when you’re not playing basketball?
Those who know me the best know that if I am not on the court playing basketball or working on my game, I am in my room watching Netflix.
