Gabrielle Schwartz 6’1 F AZ Swish/Perry 2021
I really like Gabrielle’s game and see a ton of potential in her. She stands at 6’1 and is pretty mobile for a forward. She can shoot the ball a little bit as well and showed some play making abilities. It was odd that in some games she was featured a lot and played most of the game, while in other games she barely saw the floor. What ever the reason, Schwartz needs to see the floor more to reach her full potential.
Dustee Murrell 5’10 F 602 Lady Nation/Copper Canyon 2020
Dustee shot the ball as well as anybody this weekend. She still looked a bit uncomfortable with the ball in her hand whenever she had to put it on the floor. She pretty much stayed to her role as a knock down shooter and rarely drifted from that spot. I think she has so much to add to her game still and she is already a solid prospect due to her tremendous shooting ability.
Bella Hamel 5’10 F Tucson Rattlers Black/Ironwood Ridge 2020
Hamel really impressed me this weekend. She dove and fought for every loose ball and that will always get you noticed in my eyes. You’ll always have a place to play if you play with that style of physicality, aggression, and pure will. She also has a very good mid-range jumper. She is definitely capable of hitting the 3, but shot a lot more effectively from mid-range.
Sophie Gerber 5’10 F 602 Lady Nation/Desert Mountain 2020
I think Gerber could be very good! She had some games where she shined and shot the ball extremely well and one game where she struggled from deep. However, she continued to shoot the ball with confidence and had a very nice looking shot. Even in a game she struggled in, she impressed me and made me re-evaluate where she stands in the 2020 rankings.
Amanda Barcello 5’11 F BSP/Seton Catholic 2021
Barbello impressed me due to her versatility and toughness. She got absolutely lit up on a hard screen, a screen where you need to come out of the game and catch your breath. Barcello waved her coached off when asked for a sub and kept playing through noticeable pain and frustration. She was very good defensively, having the size to guard bigs and the athleticism to guard crafty guards. She can guard 1-5 with ease and really stuck to her role on the team.
