Thank you to the large programs that help provide opportunities of playing on a wide scale. Due to the volume of girls playing, it is difficult to watch every single player. Although the goal, we watch many 2020 and 2021 teams in the Spring of 2019. Based off the performances and competition from the teams, PGH Oklahoma witnessed a few players to watch throughout the year!! Here are some players to watch from the Hoop It Up Showcase in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Titan Sports Performance Center.
#0 Olivia Clayton, Junior, 6’3, Post, Checotah HS, OK Swarm BlueStar 17U David
It seems as if some element of her game drastically improves each tournament, I witness Olivia. Lately, she has been a threat on the defensive end forcing difficult shots for the offensive and securing rebounds after pursuing the missed shot with some aggression.
Chloe Brinlee, Junior, 5’9, Guard, Latta HS, DC Queens 2021-Carrington
Nice size guard that handles the ball well. I love how her head is always up when she has the ball in her hands, and good ability to control her ball and body very well while dribbling. She uses her IQ of player/body awareness to navigate on the court and make proper decision to shoot or drive the ball.
#32 Lizzy Simpson, Sophomore, 5’11, Forward, Vanoss HS, OK Swarm BlueStar Richie 16U
Strong and physical with her finishes around the basketball. She is always on-balance before going up to shoot the ball which helps her to be able to finish the ball well. I also like how hard she dribbles the ball as she moves and her IQ behind her decisions, smart player.
#33 Reese Webb, Sophomore, 5’11, Guard/Forward, Fort Gibson HS, OK Arsenal
Most could call this player a 3 but due to her size and skill set, she has the ability to play inside as well. Very comfortable executing moves out of triple threat in order to maneuver by the defense. She does well at moves from the mid post as well to take advantage of smaller players.
