Continue ReadingKaty Harris was not an immediate eye catcher for speed, flashiness, or size. Being able to score from either block, with either hand, off her back-to-basket game was one thing but how she was able to repeatedly do it was another. The footwork Harris has was the source of her success. It also didn’t hurt having good length and the ability to use her body to get her shot off once her footwork got her into good position.
Playing on Lady Prospects U15 this summer the 5’10” forward, and Atchison High School attendee, averaged 11 points and 11.8 rebounds per game at the MAYB Wichita Hall of Fame Exposure tournament held at Wichita Sports Forum. The first day of the event she scored 24 points and pulled down 21 rebounds in a game.
Clearly she is building fast on her 10.2 points and 7.9 rebounds she averaged as an Atchison freshman and is a player to watch grow her game.
