Blessed with good size and an all-around game, she is a positionless player who likes to play the game at a fast pace and brings smoothness to the floor.
She helped Miege go a perfect 24-0 this past season as she averaged around 17 points, seven rebounds en route to a state championship.
“(My) high school season was very fun,” she says. “I played with great teammates and coaches.”
Verhulst is gearing up for a big offseason running with Next Level Eclipse in Kansas City.
“I need to improve my overall strength and perimeter jump shot,” she says.
Verhulst says her high school and club coaches have had the most influence on her game to date.
“They push me, encourage me and teach me how to be a player,” she says.
A fan of basketball at all levels, Verhulst says she tries to take as much as she can from watching others work.
“I enjoy watching many different players,” she says. “Whether it be NBA players on YouTube or college women’s basketball. I watch anything I think can help expand by game.”
