Many players play well and do good things in a game ultimately helps contribute to the team goal. On the other hand, some ball players stand out among their teammates and opponents on the floor. Not a complete inclusive list due to the fact I was not able to watch all teams, here are some Class of 2021 Standouts from the first Live Period weekend in Texas.
#23 Taliyah Gramling, Sophomore, 5’8, Guard, Millwood HS, Unity Basketball
Handles the ball well off the dribble and on shots. I like her decision making in the type of shots she decides to shoot, especially on the move. On the defensive end she stays active with her hands and is quick off of her feet to react to loose balls and passes.
20 Naomi Smith, Sophomore, 5’8, Guard, Lawton IKE, OK Swish 2021/2022 Blue
Very crafty finishes and body moves with the ball in transition. Good court vision in order to make the extra pass for a better shot or executes a nice move for a layup. I like how she physically gets down and works on defense and gets even lower while defending so she can keep the intensity the entire play\.
#1 Kennedy Cummings, Sophomore, 5’7, Guard, Norman North HS, OK Swarm 16U BlueStar Richie
The aggressor of this team, Kennedy makes the team go. Always playing at a high tempo which aids her skill in driving to the basket and defense intensity. She handles the ball well, drives strong to basketball and plays hard nose defense.
#10 Delanie Crawford, Sophomore, 5’11, Guard, Piedmont HS, Team Oklahoma Platinum
Posses a skill set from every level. She can shot the 3, transition pull up shots, from the high post, and the wing. Combo guard for sure. High efficient player because she does everything right. She doesn’t force shots, makes the extra passes if too much pressure, rebounds well and gets touches and steals on the defense because of her length.
