Many players play well and do good things in a game ultimately helps contribute to the team goal. On the other hand, some ball players stand out among their teammates and opponents on the floor. Not a complete inclusive list due to the fact I was not able to watch all teams, here are some Class of 2022 Standouts from the first Live Period weekend in Texas.
#22 Micah Gray, Freshman, 5’8, Guard, Classes SAS HS, OKC Lions Elite
Micah displayed everything this tournament. Mid range jumpers off the dribble, 3-point shots off the pass, transition lay ups and 1 free-throw, drives to basket, offensive rebounds. Micah was stellar in every play on offensive. Lastly, she improved drastically on her defensive play, making her all around a difficult match for the tournament.
#15 Jaki Rollins, Freshman, 5’9, Guard, Mustang HS, OK Swish 2021/2022 Blue
Great at her timing on with the ball in order to react to make a move on the defense. Very well at finishing the lay up from countermoves and using proper finish every time. Also, she pushes the ball efficiently up the court to see what options she has for teammates or herself. Fun player to watch.
#21 Jenna Bay, Freshman, 5’9, Guard, Shattuck HS, OK Swarm 15U BlueStar Shawn
Few weaknesses from this player. She defends, rebounds the ball, pushes in transition, ability to shoot the 3 ball, moves to the basket. Jenna rarely stays out of the game long due to her strong physically presence and skill ability on many level.
#10 Jordan Harrison, Freshman, 5’4, Guard, Classen SAS HS, THSS Mavs Elite
Always keeps composure on the court. Very few things this player cannot do. A player that can defend with pressure for the full court the entire game and facilities the ball at a very high rate. To add, her ball-handling ability allows her to never get trapped and hard for defenders to stop her from advancing.
