While I was able to watch many games, I was not able to watch all teams and all players at the event. Here are some players that stood out to me in the class of 2022 and the class of 2023:
Amanda Behrend (Chicago Power 16/Fenwick) – A 6’1’’ athlete, Behrend plays under control and uses her length in the post on both offense and defense. She rebounds well and is a strong finisher at the rim.
Mirabel Schwanke (Chicago Power 16/Fenwick) – A knock-down shooter from three, Schwanke has good size and athleticism to play multiple positions. She moves well without the ball so her teammates can find her for the open shot.
Audrey Hinrichs (Chicago Power 16/Fenwick) – A 6’1’’ Post Player, Hinrichs is right up there with the best with her strength and physicality. She is an excellent rebounder and savvy in the post with a number of different moves.
2023
Jordan Wood (Midwest Elite 15 Dunner) – At 6’3’’, Wood excels inside and outside on both ends of the court. Her height and length create match up nightmares for nearly every opponent. She can score over smaller defenders in the post and shoot at a high mark from the outside. Wood’s ball handling skills for her height really make her an elite prospect to pay attention to over the next few years.
Lenee Beaumont (Chicago Power) – Beaumont is a quick and smooth PG that is very fundamental and knows the game very well. At 5’9’’, she is able to hold her own against most opponents. Plus shooter.
Evyn Carrier (Truth 16 Porter/Sycamore) – A 6’2’’ Forward, Carrier has the size and athleticism to make a big impact on the court. She rebounds the ball well on both ends and showed good footwork to create openings in the post.
