While I was able to watch many games, I was not able to watch all teams and all players at the event. Here are some players that stood out to me in the class of 2022:
Torrie Kortan (Truth 16 Porter/St. Charles East) – A long and athletic Combo Guard at 5’7’’, Kortan really excels on both ends of the floor. She handles the ball well and has great touch on her mid-range jump shots. Overall a very mature and composed player for her age.
Kenzie Hare (Truth 16 Silver/Bartlett) – It is evident early on how good the 5’9’’ Guard is when you watch her play. Hare’s length and athleticism show that she has potential to be star (if she’s not already). This weekend, it was her 3pt shooting that was on display. She has a solid and consistent shot and her height and long arms allow her to shoot over smaller defenders.
Faith Feuerbach (Truth 16 Silver/Sycamore) – A 6’0’’ Freshman, Feuerbach’s ceiling is very high. She is a dominant rebounder down low, but it was her jump shot and ball handling that were most impressive this weekend.
Claire Hyde (Midwest Elite 15 Dunner/Wheaton North) – Hyde is a 5’5’’ PG with good strength and ball handling skills to get in the lane with ease. Game moves at a slower pace for her. Likes to get teammates involved, but can also create her own shot and hit from deep.
Brianna Wooldridge (IL Hustle 16 Elite/Fremd) – Wooldridge continues to get stronger and more physical in the post. At 6’2’’, there aren’t many defenders that match her combination of size and aggressiveness. Draws fouls regularly and has shown the ability to knock down free throws.
