Badali was named IBCA 4A Second Team All-State as a Junior, and for good reason. The 5’7’’ Combo Guard may be slightly undersized for her position, but what she lacks in height, she makes up for in just about every aspect of her game. Badali is lightning quick with the ball with excellent court vision and possesses a lethal 3pt shot.
When asked about her Junior season, Badali credited the team’s hard work that drove them to the State Championship game.
“It went really well. I don’t think many people thought we would finish like that. I know our team worked hard for it, so I think we deserved what we got.”
The Mighty Macs are losing several key players from last years run to graduation, but Badali thinks they’ll still be in a good position to compete next year. “We had a lot of Junior’s that didn’t play as much this past season, but they have the talent to come and take over the spots. I think we have a good future.”
As I mentioned earlier, Badali is such a talented player, its very difficult to determine what exactly her best traits are. She sees her strengths as, “seeing the floor and being able to break down my opponent, as well as my shooting.”
Speaking on what she is trying to work most on this summer, Badali mentioned “getting to the basket and being able to finish more. I’m not that tall so being able to finish better around taller players is something that I’m working on.”
What’s going on in recruiting?
“I have an offer from Lewis. Lindenwood and Maryville are interested, so we’ll see what happens with them. I plan on visiting Lindenwood this off season.”
Badali excels in so many areas and really impacts the game on both ends of the court. I fully expect more offers/interest to be coming in throughout this travel season and into her Senior year at Mother McAuley.
