The 6’1’’ Forward is extremely strong for her age and really uses that to her advantage in the post. Fenwick brings several key players back next year after losing a close Sectional Championship game to a solid Nazareth Academy team.
About her first season at the high school level, Audrey said “My Freshman season was definitely a great experience. I loved being a part of that team. I learned a lot playing with and against older players which helped develop my skills. Overall it was a great season.”
Along with her strength, Audrey possesses a very savvy game in the post and knows what to do with the ball in her hands. She said “I feel my strength is on the blocks for sure. I’ve worked on my inside moves, rebounding, and defense.”
As a player who has mostly played in the post so far, Audrey has learned to excel in all three of those areas. She knows how to create openings for herself with the ball, but her rebounding and post defense are equally important.
Playing with the Chicago Power this AAU season, Audrey said “My goal this season is to improve my outside game. I’m going to work on my three’s and mid-range game.” She shoots free throws well, so after spending time on that mid-range game and outside shot, I have no doubt that she’ll be able to start knocking them down on a consistent basis.
What’s going on in recruiting?
“I have been getting some colleges who are interested. I’ve spoken with several coaches and plan on attending a couple of camps this summer, but I have no offers yet.”
I see that changing very soon. Several Fenwick players are a part of the Chicago Power team and they are fun to watch. They are developing great chemistry and learning each other’s games well, which will make them a big threat when the high school season starts. For Audrey, she definitely has the size and strength that coaches are looking for at the next level, so once that mid-range game gets to a spot where defenders have to respect it, she’s going to be a tough opponent to stop.
