Able to play the 1-3 spots, she can handle the ball well with control and speed and is absolutely lights out shooting the ball from three. Mira has an athletic frame and long arms to guard multiple spots on defense.
Regarding her Freshman season at Fenwick, Mira said “My first season at Fenwick was great. I was on JV and got pulled up to Varsity later in the season for playoffs. It was such a good experience! We went 22-2 and won the GCAC City Tournament.” During her Freshman campaign, primarily at the JV level, Mira averaged 12.4 points, 3.1 steals, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.
Playing with the Chicago Power this summer, alongside many of her Fenwick teammates, Mira will gain more experience playing at a high level with teammates that she’ll share the court with for the next few years. As far as what she thinks she brings to the table, Mira says “I feel my strengths are definitely on both sides of the court. Shooting, ball-handling, and passing on offense. While on defense I like putting pressure on the ball and getting deflections which lead to a lot of fast breaks.”
From what I have seen of Mira so far, she is spot on with that assessment. Like I mentioned earlier, she is a pure knock-down shooter and can handle and pass the ball well. Defensively she is always hounding the opposing ball handler and creating turnovers.
Now for what she hopes to work on most, Mira says “I really want to work on a lot, but the main things include better defense on post players and a quicker release on my shot.” The best thing that a good shooter like Mira can do is keep perfecting that shot so that her teammates can keep setting her up for open looks.
What’s going on in recruiting?
“Our team, as a whole, has had a lot of interest. I don’t have any offers yet, but I’ve been invited to some college elite camps.”
This summer and the upcoming Sophomore season are going to be very big for Mira. She was stuck behind some talented upperclassmen Guards at the Varsity level, so played mostly on JV for experience and to fine tune some skills. Now that she is playing on a high-level AAU team and is sure to get good varsity time as a Sophomore, heads will start to turn.
