Each day this week I will be putting out a few evaluations from that event. Today, we take a look at 12 uncommitted prospects in the 2020 class in two parts. Each part has six players in alphabetical order.
Cheyenne Shaw — 5’9 SG/PG — Beyond Ball 24K / North Mahaska HS
Shaw has always been a player with a good feel for the game. She holds a lot of athleticism and has the ability to score the ball at a high clip. She’s starting to see her production grow since the high school season. She’s always had flashes of being able to get things done on the offensive end and now its starting to come to fruition more. I expect that more will come her way recruiting wise this summer because she can play.
Clair Lauterbach — 5’7 SF — All Iowa Attack Multi-Sport / Van Meter HS
Lauterbach has been a player that I’ve kept an eye on throughout her career. She’s a long wing who handles the ball pretty well. Lauterbach plays with a high motor and has the ability to score the ball at all three levels. She’s best as a slasher and going to the rim right now but she’s still developing. She looked really solid this weekend and should be a player that has a future in college basketball, provided she chooses that route.
Grace Boffeli — 6’1 PF — Lady Martin Brothers / North Scott HS
Boffeli picked up her first DI offer this past weekend from Eastern Illinois after a very solid weekend. She’s solidifying herself as a definite DI prospect and I have been saying for months that she is one of the most underrated players in the state. She plays hard and is very skilled. Boffeli is a good passer out of the post and can hit cutters with ease. A really solid rebounder who can clean up on the glass. Boffeli has more offers coming her way in the future.
Grace Plummer — 5’10 SG/SF — Beyond Ball 24K / Valley HS
Plummer is one of those players who you look at and just know she can play. Physically, she’s a coaches dream with her strength and frame, and the skill is starting to catch up. She can shoot the ball well from the outside and is a mismatch on the inside against smaller guards. Plummer is a player who should be one of the focal pieces of the Valley offense this upcoming year and could even be in line to grab a couple DI offers along with her heavy DII interest. Jada Donaldson — 5’5 PG — Barium / Beaver Dam HS (WI)
Donaldson is a small lead guard who can really go. She is a very good and quick defender who has a bit of an edge to her game. Donaldson has received a few DI offers and should be a really productive low major player. She has a nice feel for the game, good passing ability, and she change change directions well. She is going to be a very solid player at the next level, especially with her defensive abilities.
Karlyn Snider — 5’5 PG — All Iowa Attack Multi-Sport / West Marshall HS
I’ve really liked Snider’s game since the first time I saw her. She processes the game a little faster than most other players which leads to a few more turnovers than I would like, but she is processing the game at a very high level. She’s a very tough lead guard with good handling ability and a great work ethic. I want her perimeter shot to come around and if it does she’s a surefire scholarship kid.
