Each day this week I will be putting out a few evaluations from that event. Today, we take a look at 12 uncommitted prospects in the 2021 class in two parts. Each part has six players in alphabetical order.
Josie Fleischmann — 5’7 SG — All Iowa Attack Multi-Sport / Ballard HS
Fleischmann has been catching my attention each time I see her this summer. She’s a strong guard with a really good frame that hold strength. Her outside shot is starting to develop more and more which only will help her in the long run. Vocal leader on the floor and knows how to get things moving. She’s on a very young, but very good Ballard team that should start to make some noise statewide.
Katelyn Hosking — 5’8 SG — Barium / Slinger HS (WI)
Hosking is a wiry guard who was one of the better shooters at the event this past weekend. She is a player who can stand outside the arc all day long and knock down shots. Defensively she’s pretty solid with her quickness and length. Hosking has good anticipation with ability to read passing lanes. Should be a very good pickup for a school looking for outside shooting.
Katie Dinnebier — 5’7 PG — All Iowa Attack EYBL / Waukee HS
Dinnebier was hands down the best performer this weekend. In fact, if I had to guess she’d be the next 2021 to receive a scholarship offer. She’s a quick lead guard who is one of the top defenders in the state. Dinnebier is really starting to come into her own and play like she is capable of. She’s got a solid outside shot with the ability to score at all three levels. Not many in the state know about her after she missed most of her freshman year due to a torn ACL, but soon she’ll be a known name statewide.
Molly Ihle — 5’4 PG — All Iowa Attack Nike Carpenter / Ballard HS
Ihle is a quick lead guard with a great feel for the game. She has a ton of potential that I don’t think a lot of people recognize yet because she plays out of position a lot of the time. Good passer and a true lead guard who can make things happen on both ends of the floor. She still has a bit of work to do, but I love her as a scholarship kid at the next level. It’ll click soon and when it does Ihle is going to be one of the better pure lead guards in the state.
Riley Gilroy — 5’4 PG — All Iowa Attack Multi-Sport / Bondurant-Farrar HS
Gilroy is a small guard who is quick, feisty, and tough. She knows the game well and this past weekend she was really getting after it. I really think that she’s developing her game well and is someone to keep an eye on going forward. She’s starting to be more physical on the perimeter opening up lanes for her to either drive and dish or score the ball. I am interested to see how much of a leap she takes this year.
Riley Wright — 5’10 SF — All Iowa Attack EYBL / Marion HS
Wright has long been one of my favorite players to watch. She’s a lengthy wing who is starting to gain strength needed to be dominant. She can play many different positions with her skill set, but I think in the long run she sticks on the wing as a point-forward type player. Wright was getting to the rim really well this weekend and finishing through contact. She is an all-around solid player who knows the game inside and out.
