West Liberty Salem has been the most consistent team in the county the past few years, but each of the schools have enjoyed success over the past several years.
Here are some of the kids that fans in the county will want to watch play this coming season.
Katelyn Nash, 5-7 Graham- a very talented player trying to help turn this program around. Nash is a hard nosed guard who can get to the rim and score, and has a good work ethic. Nash can score from the perimeter, has good handles, and moves well without the ball. Loves to compete, and continues to work on her defensive game.
Kasey Schipfer, 5-9 Mechanicsburg- hoping to stay healthy this season, Schipfer is a player who is among the state’s best in her class. She missed the majority of last season recovering from an ACL injury, so she is ready to finish her Indians career on a high note. Great guard with a steady perimeter shot. Handles well with both hands, runs the floor and sees the floor on the break. Solid defender, good intangibles. High basketball IQ and a natural born leader.
Cati LeVan, 5-6 Triad- Half of the talented backcourt for the Triad Cardinal, Cati is a solid guard who can see the floor well, score from the perimeter and run the offense well. Good handles, continuing to get better.
Frani LeVan, 5-6 Triad- A prolific three-point shooter, Frani joins her sister in the backcourt for the Cardinal. She was the leading scorer for the team, just ahead of Cati. Excellent all around skills, moves well, can shoot well off the bounce and does a good job on the boards.
Emily Hollar, 5-8 West Liberty Salem- Emily was a big piece of their team this past year as a freshhan. She was 2nd on the team in assists and steals and fourth in scoring. She was a very good defensive guard, athletic and a kid who improved as the season progressed. Good handles, and will take more of an offensive role this year.
