Day 2 was exactly as I thought it would be, a tough day of good competition, long day of laboring coaches trying to figure out who they like and who they do not like. Games were very entertaining and the competition on all levels are equal and made for great games. Our day started early, getting to the gym at 9AM and we watched game after game until about 10PM that evening. Here is what we saw and learned on Day 2 of the Pacific Showcase; Team Taurasi is no joke, by what I mean is that they are by far the most talented team in the Western Region right now, no questions asked…. Team Taurasi went (5-0) this weekend, which will keep them in the #1 spot for West Coast Club Teams Rankings this week.

2020, 5’7, PG, Rosary Academy HS, Asia Avinger (#4 ranked PG in the PGHCalifornia Rankings)
2020, 6’2, SF, Chaminade Prep HS, Alexis Whitfield (#1 ranked SF in the PGHCalifornia Rankings)

2020, 5’8, PG, Sierra Canyon HS, Vanessa DeJesus (#2 ranked PG in the PGHCalifornia Rankings)
San Diego Waves 17UAA are getting better each time I see them play, this will definitely help them rise in the West Coast Team Rankings. Their primary guard oriented offensive attack makes them one tough team to play, all the guards can handle the ball and shoot it as well. The big in the middle is an 8th grader and she will be in our 2023 Rankings coming out soon. San Diego Waves went 4-1 on the Weekend, which will raise their rankings in the West Coast Club Teams Rankings this week.
