This year’s event was no different and it was ran in conjunction with the adidas Gauntlet in the same area. Premier Basketball hosted the Silver Gauntlet teams, as well as top independent teams from around the country and younger adidas, under armour and Nike sponsored programs at the 14u/15u levels. The event attracted over 100 college coaches of various levels and many adidas Platinum Gauntlet teams also participated in one showcase game in the Heart of Texas. Here’s part 2 of the players that stood out in the games that Prep Girls Hoops was present at.
Heart of Texas Standouts, Part 2:
2022 6’1 SG Avery Watkins (NW Blazers Sparks) – Division 1 ready frame as a freshman in high school with very good leaping ability. Rebounded the ball very well in the championship game for the Blazers. Can defend multiple positions and score inside and out on offense. Multiple Division 1’s already showing interest.
2021 6’0 PF Jaiteh Fatoumata (NW Greyhounds Black) – Long athlete that can run the floor well and block shots. She has a developing post up game and solid footwork. Newer to the circuit, but the potential is there and should continue to develop with time.
2021 5’10 SF Chenoa Louie (NW Blazers Fire) – Very strong forward that battles on both sides of the ball. Rebounds, hustles and plays unselfishly. Solid college prospect with some small college interest.
2020 5’8 G Eva Richards (NW Greyounds Black) – Thinner frame, but plays hard and really got hot from three in one of the games we watched. Shoots the ball with confidence and has a solid all around offensive skill set.
2022 5’10 SF Alicia Suggs (NW Blazers Sparks) – Had a very good showing in this event. Showed great conditioning and is a strong rebounder. Has the ability to make plays in transition and knock down the open 3 ball.
