[player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"] is a rising star in Michigan high school basketball. She is a 5’8" star point guard in the class of 2022. Bargesser attends Grass Lake High School and plays grassroots basketball for Michigan Premier 2020 Blue. She is an incredibly fast lead guard that can be trusted with the ball in her hands at all times. We recently caught up with [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"] to talk about her game, what makes her successful, and more. Question: What is the biggest strength in your game? [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"]: My 2 biggest strengths are my court vision and my speed. I am able to survey the court, read the defense, and distribute the ball. I am currently going to states for track, and I work to use my speed on the court. Question: What’s been the key to your success in basketball? [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"]: The keys to my success are the amount of time I put into practicing and that I am coachable. My goal is to get better every day, so I am sure to put time in every day to do just that. Question: Is there any added pressure being a highly touted player? [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"]: I have not noticed any added pressure as I am just focused on playing and giving full effort. Question: What has been your best moment in basketball so far? [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"]: My best moment in basketball may be when my Grass Lake Varsity team beat Michigan Center this year. We took a big loss to them early in the season. It was a big rivalry game, and we played great as a team. Question: Who has been the toughest player that you’ve ever matched up with? [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"]: I am not sure if she is the toughest player I have matched up against but probably my favorite player to play against is Kaitlyn Costner, 2021 from MBA Select. She is quick, can get to the basket and has a good shot, which pushes me to get better at different aspects of my defense. Question: What are your team goals for the rest of grassroots season? [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"]: My Michigan Premier team is a highly skilled team. We have learned to get the win against some of the top program teams. One of our current goals is to continue to focus on making the extra pass to get the best shot possible for each possession. Question: What professional players game reminds you of your own? I really like Kyrie Irving’s style of play because of his handles, court vision, and passing abilities. I try to play a similar style. Question: What is your favorite class in school? Why? [player_tooltip player_id="147725" first="Lexus" last="Bargesser"]: My favorite class in school is Algebra because I like learning the different concepts in math.
