We will take a look at some of the players from Michigan that made a statement during the live period. It’s important to remember that this list is not all inclusive. There will be players not on the list that had big weekends. There may be players that scored more points, played in bigger events……etcetera. It’s just what one persons take on what happened over the weekend.
McKenna Brent (West Michigan Drive 2020/2021)
Brent played in the Windy City Classic. Her message to onlookers could be summarized in 1 wword……DEFENSE.
Ti’Syn Callahan (2022, CG, Southfield Christian, HYPE 15U Coltran)
“Ti’Syn Callahan is a triple threat which makes her dangerous and fun to watch. Her basketball I.Q and her defensive skills makes her an all around player. With this only being her freshman year, she is definitely one to keep your eye on!!” – Doc Cornell
Maddie Dolenga (2021, G, Rochester Adams, Greg Grant Elite)
Watch out for Dolenga. She showed off a nice looking jumper with range at the Midwest Challenge. Dolenga looked very comfortable shooting off the catch.
Gabby Elliott (2020, SF, DEPSA, Michigan Storm Elite)
Elliott may have had the most impressive live weekend of any player from Michigan. She was an elite scorer at the UAA event. Elliott had multiple 30 plus point games.
Jade Friday (2023, PG, HYPE Lady Hoopers 14u)
She showed her skills on both ends of the floor at the Midwest Challenge. Friday has a nice jumper and was a lockdown defender all weekend.
Logan Lewis (2022, G, West Bloomfield, Michigan Crossover 16u)
Lewis was with the Crossover 16u at Boo Williams. People walked away very impressed with her ability to knock down jumpers at a high percentage. Her offensive efficiency was incredible.
Carly McCrum (2021, G/F, Bay City John Glenn, Michigan Cagers 2021)
I’m just one of many that loves watching this kid play. She has an innate ability to hunt buckets. McCrum was her teams leading scorer in the Windy City Classic championship game.
Whitney Sollom (2020, F/C, Hartland, Michigan Mystics )
I dare you to show me a more technically sound post player in Michigan. People were impressed with her footwork and ball skills in the paint.
Ruby Whitehorn (2022, SG, DEPSA, Michigan Crossover 16u)
Whitehorn was at Boo Williams over the live period. She impressed college coaches and scouts nationwide. Her all around game is elite on a national level. Whitehorn was selected to the Boo Williams All-Tournament Team.
Kendal Zeiter (2022, G/F, Troy, Tri-County Hoopers)
Zeiter showed her big time potential at the Midwest Challenge. Her combination of size and ball skills was impressive. Zeiter is a true 3 level scorer.
