Laci is enjoying a strong 16u AAU campaign with Kentucky Storm Elite and making strides to improve her game on an every weekend basis. Reinhart described her game as very aggressive, “I have an aggressive mentality on the court. I’m always analyzing and breaking down the game.” She identified her strengths as ball handling, shooting, driving and court vision. Laci also recognized her shortcomings as a player right now, “I’m a high risk, high reward player. Offensively, I have the skills to take defenders off the dribble and get the basket, and I can also shoot with range. But at times I can turn the ball over with my playmaking ability. Defensively, I have a good knack for getting in passing lanes and coming up with deflections and steals. But this can also lead to me getting beat on gambles from time to time. I go all out on every play and on certain occasions I come up short.”
As a sophomore, Laci appeared in every game for Dixie Heights and averaged a little over 4 points per game. Reinhart told me that she did the best she could in her time on the court for Dixie, “In my limited minutes as a Sophomore, I needed to make my high school season count. Before my freshman season I transferred schools and then transferred back before my Sophomore year. I believe that put me in a difficult position on the depth chart for this season. But I’m proud to say I made every second count that I was in. I had several games where I turned the complexion of the game and we came out with the win because my effort.”
Currently almost halfway through her 16u AAU season with Kentucky Storm Elite, Laci is having a great spring. “I am leading our team in assists and averaging over 14 points per game, including the Championship game winner in the Clash in Cincinnati. This AAU season has been a great year so far for me. My three point percentage is 53% and my free throw percentage is 81%.” Reinhart said she is starting to get college looks and drawing college interest but is taking the recruitment in stride and just continuing to work and try to impress college coaches in hope of a scholarship down the line. In the mean time, Laci is working towards some individual goals in her Junior season, “Reach 1,000 points, I only need about 400 points to reach that goal. There is always room to be become a better shooter, so I definitely want to improve my shot. I also want to work on my defense and physical strength.” Laci Reinhart is continuing her rise towards the top players in Northern Kentucky and is definitely one to watch in the 2019-20 season for Dixie.
