A lot of their kids are from Central Indiana, and more specifically, from the Western and Southern suburbs of Indianapolis, just outside of Marion County. They have a varying degree of prospects, but all of these kids are recruitable at some level.
Indiana Showcase-Kirby 16U: This group is coached by Anthony Kirby, and it’s probably their deeper, more talented group in the 16U age group right now. They don’t necessarily have what you’d consider to be a traditional point guard prospect, but they have a really nice combination of combo guards, big guards, and wings who do a nice job taking care of the basketball. Coach’s daughter, Kenna Kirby (2022) of Tri-West, has had good showings each time I’ve seen this team. She’s a younger player playing ‘up’, but she’s a strong kid who can really shoot the ball. She’s also capable of running offense at times. Chloe Gould (2021) of Danville Community has probably exceeded expectations this Spring, and she has been really good on the ball, she has shot it consistently from the perimeter, and she’s a nice, long, fluid athlete. Ella Wolfe (2022) of Tipton is another nice youngster who has flashed really nice moments. She is a long athlete who plays with a lot of energy, and she can score the ball from the perimeter or by slashing to the basket. Kayla Hinshaw (2022) of Hamilton Southeastern, and Abigail Young (2022) of Mooresville are a pair of nice, solid, younger guards for them to turn to. Abigail Parker (2022) from Tipton, and Haley Godwin (2022) of Danville Community are a pair of wiry strong athletes who can score at all levels, rebound, and defend multiple positions. Up front they’ve gotten strong play from Samara Douglas (2022) of Covenant Christian. I highlighted Samara yesterday for her Spring play, because she’s a nice inside-out athlete with some skill. They also have a pair of taller prospects in Allison Shaffer (2021) of Brownsburg and Bailey Stamper (2021) of Triton Central. Shaffer is an extremely long, rangy, and fluid kid who plays a lot on her length and athleticism. Stamper is a broad-shouldered, strong, physical, traditional post who can play with her back to the basket, and she’s comfortable in the mid-post. This group has several younger kids on it, so I can see a few Division-I schools and several small colleges chasing them around this Summer.
Additional Notes: The Indiana Showcase-Russ 16U team coached by Russ George has a couple of talented Center Grove 8th Graders playing ‘up’ two age groups in Ella Hobson (2023) and Emily Karr (2023). Hobson is a little water-bug point guard with a nice perimeter stroke, while Karr is a long and rangy shooter who can handle it as well. Indiah Kendrick (2021) of Avon is another really nice, dynamic little point guard for this team. Russ George has an additional entry with the Indiana Showcase-George 15U squad, and they are a solid collection of 2022 prospects. There are also three 14U entries for Indiana Showcase. Indiana Showcase-Johnson 14U has been very entertaining all Spring. They are led by the point guard play of Karsyn Norman (2023) of Bedford North Lawrence. I’ve highlighted her several times before, as she has been outstanding. Teegan Acres (2023) of Hamilton Southeastern, Nakiya Harris (2023) of Pike, and Emma Brown (2023) of Bedford North Lawrence have also all had their moments when I’ve been able to see this team. I also enjoyed watching the Indiana Showcase-Gage 14U group when I saw them. They have some intriguing pieces, but probably none more so than wing Sydney Warren (2023) of Cascade. She is long, fluid, and still growing, plus she has good height (5-10) for someone who handles the ball at her age. Izzy Crickmore (2023) of Center Grove was another wing on this team with length, fluidity, and upside. And forwards Autumn Bucker (2023) and Alexia Cole (2023), both of Pike, are a pair of really nice athletes with run-and-jump ability. The one team who has escaped me so far is the Indiana Showcase-Thomas 14U team, but I hope to see them early in July.
